hello folks. been working on a new frankenrifle toy, and have used a 2260 barrel in a prod breech. the barrel had a chamfered down edge or a taper at the rearmost end of it. 1/8 inch or so. i removed the "taper" barely. no more. it sticks out the breech into the mag area about 1/16 inch, when installed onto tube with t port in it.. is this sufficient to retain mag?? i have managed to massage an oring groove inside the barrel before breaking my hillbilly ground cutter. moding the disco tube and valve,as well as moving the forward breech screws more forward was a pain trying to use a drill press as a mill machine , .but i have it on there. i am concerned there is not enough barrel protruding to secure mag. what do you guys think?? i dont have a mag yet to try on it, got one ordered. any opinions welcome. thank you.
David
actually its less than 1/16.

perhaps someone could measure how much their barrel sticks out the back of the p rod. this may give me an idea how this might fit a mag or not

The recess in the front of a PRod mag is just about exactly 1/16".... should work fine.... It the transfer port still in the right place?....

Any resizing or cropping utility to reduce the picture to 200kb or less will make it "postable". Jpeg being the best format. There is a resizing link in the library here.

No problem. If you have windows 7 or greater you can also use the snipping tool. I find this one the easiest and most convenient. You can "capture" anything on your screen. The screen will turn "cloudy" then place the + in the upper left corner of you object and, holding down the left mouse button, drag it to the lower right corner of your object. Your "captured" area will become clear. Release the mouse button and save your picture. Even a full screen picture will be sized not to exceed the 200kb posting limit. With the 2000 kb per post limit, you can add up to 10 pictures to each post. Here is an example of a full screen capture from a chrony string. It's 142 kb

Just for picture posting practice, you may want to post some more shots of that purty furniture your guns have there.
PS: I have looked at trying to mount a Prod breech to a disco airtube. You did have a few obstacles to overcome. Good work.

thank you all for your kind words. very much time has been spent. its a labor of love , as you all know. lurking around this forum has been very educational as well as inspirational. that "furniture"
' is a black walnut stump and roots from a blow over in a storm from my uncles place. we dug it out and chainsawed it into blocks and dried it under the stair in the garage. beautiful stuff. the laminate is a blank from boyds. nothing ever seems to come out perfect, but the flaws are usually minor., sometimes my methods are a bit crude.
