I have come onto a few Crossman parts and have discovered a all steel piston from a 2100. Thinking about cutting it to size for 1377 install. It would be plenty stout much more than the stock one.Would the steel do harm to interior of pump tube. Any ideas would be appreciated. Iron Hand

Cant imagine it would as long it was cut to the right length. Ive stuffed my piston with brass rods. Not the same thing, but still made it stronger than just plastic. I get a gain by doing this since there isnt any plastic flex when pumping.

Well yes it would work but honestly I would rather see it go in a 2100b... the modern 2100 has a long bendy plastic piston that keeps the velocity down to the 600s just using the old style piston will get them back in the low 700s in ten pumps...
For the 13xx well a flat top set or just a stuffed piston does the trick...imo
I have been thinking of maybe getting another custom 2100 valve nose (.3" longer than stock) made and using one of mine to convert my 2100 to an adjustable piston Should be able to get about 850fps with 7.9g pellets in 16-17 pumps...
it would be very close to the same as my 1322XLT but a .177 and wearing different clothes...

Kirby we have a lot to talk about. I have a 77 Remington Airmaster torn down trying to figure out how to make it better. If you could let me know about upgrading valves and pistons it would be great. Can not figure out seal for transfer port, any suggestions would be great. Iron Hand

well that particual leak Big Bore Bart and a few others have tackled me my 80s 2200 was modded by someone else and it never gave me reason to disassemble...
Me I cheated and turned mine into a 1322 with a .220 id .250 od brass t-port made of a hardware store part breech clamped tight with a hose clamp(also functions as breech screw and front grip frame screw) no seals.
I have to find it but there was a thread on the Crosman forum about how a few did it... found one
http://www.network54.com/Forum/275684/thread/1305152998/2100-2200+mods
The barrel could use some help at the breech/barrel support also sometimes... the bolt well it can use help sealing also

http://www.network54.com/Realm/CFTech/FB2200.htm
Bart has made some noses in the past an extended nose for pump cup for me and some flat tops and a flattop extended for Matt.

There are a few ways to go or just the metal piston making sure the cup and valve face match and sealing will post ideas more in a few...
