been pondering a bottle feed co2/hpa front mounted carbine, wooden stock, mrod trigger with a 15-20 inch barrel... might go for a even 650fps for small game but mostly target shooting..


so can you guys with bottle fed 2xx guns post up some pictures of them ? and a couple of the tank block you are using ?

it consists of a 2300 tube,discovery valve,jdsairman drop tank adapter
all machining was done by Lloyd s-s of airgunlab.he added an extra mounting screw to the top of the jds adapter for extra security and use highstrength low-profile hex head screws,same screws for the disco valve.what im not sure of is if they are 8-32 or 10-32 ,from the looks of it they are most likely 8-32.
 right now its running on co2 until i can get my 13ci ninja tank regulated at the ideal pressure for maximum performance
the valve is bone stock.i have a p-rod trigger system installed,a 16" .22 crosman barrel with permanently attached ldc and mellonair extended probe bolt.to power the hammer a stock discovery spring is in place,no power adjuster.the brass ldc is a thick tube and heavy by itself not like the thin walled ldc's which are lighter
 i have thought about changing it to a set up like you mentioned but i'm going to save that for my .32 discovery build.thats going to be launching .310 round balls at 800fps.it's going to have a disco double set up because as it was told to me the disco double has more air space than the 13ci bottle
back to the bottle gun.the reason i wanted to add a wood stock to it is for more weight to the rear of the gun.now as it sits in the pic,it's front end heavy.it was my thought that a wood stock could balance it out some.im going to add a wood insert in the next few days

forgot to mention
the jds and qb tank blocks are very different
the jds has no bump inside to engage the air release pin on a hpa or co2 bottle and the mounting holes are spaced different.the jds has 2 sets of mounting holes 1 near the edge of the tube and the other further away from the end.you dont have to cut the threads off the tube to use it but it helps to cut them off.my gun uses the mounting holes further away from the end of the tube where the tube has enough meat to not fatigue the metal.
without the bump in the jds adapter you have to remove the release pin from the regulator and fill the tank while its attached to the gun.if you want to use co2 then an air source on/off inline adapter will be needed.same will be needed if you want to remove the hpa tank also.another needed to remove the hpa tank from the gun without taking the whole upper off is a breech riser.
  the qb drop tank costs half the price of the jds adapter but it only has one set of mounting holes at the edge of the tube,it also uses 4 o-rings iirc a new design.the mounting holes are close to the edge and when improperly mounted leads to catastrophic failure which has been seen before.the weight of the bottle fatigues the metal then it stretches the mounting holes leading to the tank coming off while under pressure.if properly mounted the risk of failure goes down some.
the qb adapter has the air/co2 release bump so no extra accessories are need to make it work without having to remove the pin inside the regulator but a riser would still be necessary to remove a hpa tank

can you post some links ?

im thinking i want the tank to point back towards me instad of sticking out the front of the of the tube. to help balance the weight and also a 12oz co2 tank would make a nice grip... and could maybe even get norm to make me a forearm grip/cover for a 12oz tank or have a extremely short tub so the bottle is like a few inches in front of the face of the valve or something...

or use a thumbhole stock i already have that was on my disco at one point but it needs some reshaping to clean up lines that the guy who made it did not do very cleanly. not to sure yet, but it will have a wooden carbine stock of some sorts....

im just starting to do my research on this so im still new to what options and how things mount with bottle fed guns

what kind of links are you looking for?
the only bottle gun i have seen like you want are custom made by rsterne, unless he is selling one he made, you might be able to coax him into making you one.dont hold your breath or actually lloyds-s can probably make you one up if rsterne gives you the drawings of the ones he made
i have been wanting a bottle gun for the last 2-3 years! now that i have one its a fun gun but the balance is off and shooting through a camera is more challenging with the offset weight.but its regulated and thats what i want in a gun,so all my shots will be pretty consistent

there is another option!!
get the crosmods rear tank adapter like the as2250 thats possible but dont know how thats actually achieved.i had all the parts to make an as2250 using the crosmods adapter but didnt go that route and sold the as2250 tube and the transfer bars
i found a rear tank gun that was a monster i'll see if i can dig that thread up again,it might have belonged to gippeto,but im not 100% sure on that

just in general bottle fed crosman carbines, still in the planning stages. since i want to go with a wood carbine style rifle stock having the bottle stick out front will help with the weight balance of the gun... but ya just pictures of them in general
