ValueMax .20 question?

So I swallowed the Turkish Koolaid and ordered out a Webley ValueMax. Chose .20 calibre as I have had a long standing love for that particular bore size. As we know, it isn't too common to buy a .20 springer these days unless you choose a Beeman (Weirauch or Theoben), or occasionally an RWS that is a limited run. Otherwise .20s are few and far between, so the Webley seemed like an interesting change of pace.

Imagine my surprise, however, when I opened up the package a few moments ago. I had to retrieve it from a neighbor's porch where UPS had delivered it in error (my luck with air gun deliveries from UPS and FedEx is horrific, BTW). I was in a sour mood to begin with at traipsing one block over in the dark to correct OOPS's mistake but the contents more than made up for it. Nestled along side the ValueMax was a scope! And not just any scope, it is a Nikko Sterling 3-9X40 Mountmaster AO with what appears to be a decent set of stout rings! I'm not sure what the quality of a Mountmaster is supposed to be in the grand scheme of things, but it is a completely unexpected bonus.

I had not read that these Turkish Delights came with any optics, much less a Nikko. Guess even a blind hog finds an acorn once in awhile. I like the basic impression of the rifle, but that green plastic stock has to go ASAP. It is nicely made, and fits well, but the amount of flex in the part surrounding the barrel hinge is atrocious. Going to make a call to Crosman for a suitable wood replacement, which will make fitting a Tuna trigger all that much easier.

For those who may wish to know, I ordered this rifle from Amazon, although it was sent to me by an unknown second party through Amazon Fullfillment Center.

But I would recommend breaking the gun in a bit before mounting the scope!
My Striker killed a 4x40 Mountmaster in 50 shots! But Nikko sent me a AirKing as a free upgrade when it broke.
