OC, yes that rifle was factory honed, I dressed the tube up further with my technique.  Good eye yep that has the buttons on the piston.

You can beat the factory old honed guns. Something YOU JUST DO NO see in the former R/HW GUNS these days. My older R1 looked about as yours.
I agree with your extra tech does help on the polishing. Buttons on the R/HW do there job.
Not only was the older guns stock better so we're the machining and builds.
The R1 is the R/HW Magnum guns.

I have owned many of the 30 mm Hw80 / R1 guns, this one was the best natured after it took the massage job.  Fun project it was, hated to see it go, but I donated it to a combat infantryman, scout recon Vietnam Vet who wanted a break barrel, guy happens to be my old man also.  Provided him with some ammo also.............

It really went no where. I know the older guns I seen were really nothing to debur plus the factory hone saves much time being it goes from one end to the other.

I have a synthetic stock . It came from my Beeman R1 AW .20 caliber .
