I had to do some minor troubleshooting on all 3 of my new items (gun, scope, compressor) to get everyone to play nice together.

It was a busier weekend than I had planned   

What really upset me was the highly respected store I bought mine from installed black Hogue furniture instead of the FDE we spoke about at length and was on the receipt.  Imagine waiting 6-weeks on preorder, you get the call it's come in and you pick out off the accessories, wait a week for shipping, open the box expecting to see your hard earned money in the form of a dream and....it's wrong.

I'll receive the proper color set tomorrow but now I have to find a dang metric allen key that's long enough to remove the grip.  This isn't what I paid for!!  /rant

Great now everyone has seen my little tantrum lol 

When I enter a new hobby these days I find there is more than enough info out there without the need for me to ask something for the millionth time and I honestly enjoy the process of searching, reading, watching videos until I have a decent grasp of the matter.  Now book learning and real world application have come together and I guess I'm ready to engage more.  I feel I'm earning my stripes

When I enter a new hobby these days I find there is more than enough info out there without the need for me to ask something for the millionth time and I honestly enjoy the process of searching, reading, watching videos until I have a decent grasp of the matter.  Now book learning and real world application have come together and I guess I'm ready to engage more.  I feel I'm earning my stripes

I used to be quite active on a few forums long ago when that's really all there was in terms of group interaction.  It's been a while since I needed a dedicated community forum for a hobby but I'm looking forward to learning all about this sport. 

I have a few fun centerfire rifles with some light mods but I find this way more accessible as an everyday thing.

Forums are an interesting beast. Most, or all, have rules but most folks just skip over them and start participating. Or, they read them but really don't understand how a particular rule came about or understand the purpose. But our rules were developed through years of trial and error and with input from the members. And are open to improvement as needed.
And another trait of public forums is the repeat of a question or statement. Some folks do not search before asking, they may be in a hurry and just want/need an answer to an issue ASAP. Some may not recognize the topic has already been discussed simply because of the wording. So the same questions will be asked repeatedly. Not a problem, we realize this will happen over and over and are here to help if we can. And help guide you to the information folks need.
Anyway....welcome my fellow Tennessean. Glad to have you aboard. Looking forward to seeing your near future posts with pictures and videos.

Never knew that one existed until now.

#8..... Buying a cheap gun and spending money on it, modding it.  Then claiming it's as good, or better, than the expensive gun you couldn't afford.

Well that wasn't me this venture.  I spent enough that I'm going to love this gun whether or not I like this gun lol

The Yong Heng and I guess you know the ATN 4k.  Alone, all the issues were not huge but working through 3 different manuals for fairly different devices all at once when all you want to do is shoot your new gun it gets a little trying.  It's my own fault though really.  I had a good month to get the compressor and scope but I kept putting it off because it was such a large outlay for a new hobby.  Well, I got the phone call that the gun had come in and it was panic city with all the ordering I did.  It all basically arrived on the same day which is a blessing and a curse.

The compressor was no big deal really.  It came down to tightening all the fittings and finding the right washer in the parts bag for the fill hose.  Having the added gold filter was another measure of fittings and something to keep an eye on.

The scope itself works great. It was/is my mounting of it that's the issue.  It still feels slightly off parallel with the barrel but it's much better now.  Probably 1 degree off instead of 5.  You assume these milled parts are perfect but as I've learned it doesn't take a lot of tolerance issues to make a cm turn into inches downrange.

Loading the firmware on the SD card gave me fits.  My very nice gaming PC doesn't even recognize it so after an hour of messing with that I broke out my 12 year old laptop and it had no problem, of course!
