UPDATE - Marauder Pistol in house!

Since the Marauder pistol is my entry into PCP, I have depended on you guys to help me get a proper start. Based on your recommendations I now have the following on hand and ready to start.
•   Bug Buster 3-9X32
•   Air Venturi K Valve PCP Scuba Charging Set
•   Leapers Accushot 1-Pc Bi-directional Offset Mount w/1" Rings, High, 11mm Dovetail
•   Air Venturi Foster Female Quick-Disconnect to 1/8" BSPP Male, 5000 PSI
My 80 cu ft/ 3300 psi scuba tank is to be delivered today and I have located a paintball field that can hpa fill the tank. I have listed the fill station on the fill station map but it hasn’t been posted yet.

I’ll mount the scope today and tomorrow get the tank filled and rig the PCP fill.
I keep up a progress report and initial crony results as things move along.

BTW – P-Rod Double and TKO Gen-V Brake ordered. Lloyd says about 2 wks for the Double.
Might as well finish the set-up. (Are you ever finished?)

Congrats Ron.
The p-rod can sometimes be picky about the pellets it likes. If you have issues getting a decent grouping, try H&N Field Target Trophy with the 5.53 diameter. A lot of p-rod owners have found these work well if accuracy is an issue with the typical off the shelf varieties.

Enjoy your trip into the PCP world. At the beginning I had some accuracy issues with my PRod but with some patience, reading, and the great advice you can find in this forum the experience has been very positive. It is fun to learn about your hobby while learning how to do mods. As you said, it is probably a never ending process.

As RatRacer says, FTT 5.53 solved my accuracy problem to a great extent, and now it is shooting JSB's 18.13 quite well too. Maybe the barrel improves with time?

The Marauder forum is a good site. Some of the PRod experts we have here are there too.

I mounted, centered and zeroed the Bug Buster last evening.
Got the scuba tank filled yesterday.
Charged the pistol this morning. The fill stopped with the Air Venture gauge reading 2000psi but the gauge on the Marauder read 3000psi. I intended to fill the Marauder to 2800psi. I used the Air Venture gauge to monitor the fill.
Can anyone explain the difference in the gauge readings?
Did I do anything wrong charging the pistol?

Crosman gauges are notorious for inconsistent readings. I use the gauge on my tank/pump as the gospel reading.

Can you recommend a better replacement?

I also have a P-Rod....Actually a Woods Walker and I too am waiting for a Bug Buster. Anyone modify fore stock for a swivel ling stud? I sure would like to know the details and what you used to back it.

Check Airtanksforsale.com. He has the small gauges that "look" to be of better quality. I got mine from MSC McMaster Carr, and deem them to be only marginally better than the OEM.
Yes, I would say that your tank only has 2k of air in it, and didn't get a full fill.

Edit: Erred in my gauge purchase, but feeling still stands. I have 1 that reads +200psi, and 1 thats very close.

Look at my picture above.
I drilled a hole  for the sling swivel.
Inside the grip is a groove.
I cut a metal strip the width of that strip and drilled through it.
I bent it so tightening the swivel, it would act like a lock washer.
Voila...

After a short "life sometimes gets in the way" break, I finally got back to the P-Rod. The scope is mounted and zeroed. Works fine on squirrels at 9yrds (3).
I finally got a chance to set up and try my new Pro Chrony Digital with computer interface. I had a difficult time installing the interface drivers. I finally went to the manufacturer of the interface chip's web site (FTDI) and downloaded the chip drivers from there.
Attached are the chrony test shots. As you can see, I am at the bottom of the learning curve.

I'm going to get back to my 1377 mod while I wait for my P-Rod Double from Floyd and TCO Gen-V from Mike.
BTW - I've made a few unsuccessful attempts to contact TKO. Anybody know whats up with them?

i'm averaging 642 FPS and 16.5 FPE using the 18.13 grain JSBs in my PRod.
I'd recommend increasing the tension on the hammer spring to about 7 to 7 1/2 turns CW from full CCW. I have my valve travel fully CCW. This should get your velocity and power up.

I haven't tried any adjustments to the hammer spring or valve yet.
You're shooting a heavier pellet. I'm shooting in the 14.5gr range.
How much of a difference will that make?
I will try your recommendations when I set up the chrony again.
Meanwhile I'll keep defending my garden and bird feeders while I do some work on the 1377.
