Hey Ron,
It's OK. I make mistakes too (but then again, I'm 70)!

While waiting for my transfer port seals to arrive from Crosman, I decided to work in a replacement for the roll pins in the forearm. My objective is to use a threaded stud and SS button head screws in place of the roll pins and I'll also be using the "Fat" forearm from a 2289 Backpacker.
The original roll pin dia. is almost exactly the same as a body drill (#33) for a 4-40 screw but the hole in the forearm is a slip fit 1/8. I have some 1/8 brass tubing on hand. 1/8 tubing I.D. is too large to tap for a 4-40 but a 3/32 is a slip fit into the 1/8.
I tinned a section of 3/32 and sweat soldered it into the 1/8 tubing.
What remains is to cut the tubing to length, drill the out I.D. with a #43 bit and tap for 4-40 screw.
I should receive some 1/4" SS, button head screws today or tomorrow. When I receive them i'll be able to counter sink the grips and get a final length for the replacement tubing.
A question - is there any place in a airgun for DOW33 silicone grease or should I stick with moly paste?

General rule of thumb is Moly can be sparingly used in non-pressurized area's of metal to metal contact, (polished trigger contact surfaces, striker, etc)
and 100% Silicone sparingly used in or around pressurized area's, (breech seals, bolt O-ring, pump seals, etc.)
