TF99 conversion from pyramid

Just wondering if anyone has shot the gas ram converted TF99 from pyramid? I want a fixed barrel springer but I'm on a tight budget.  It seems like a decent price but I've heard the quality is sketchy? I know flying dragon has a gas ram underlever but the velocities are lower and the price is higher.  If that's not correct my appologies.  I want something around 1000 FPS. I will be using it for squirrel hunting.  I know it's heavy.  Weight doesn't bother me.  Whatcha think guys?

From the posts I've read the XS46 from Flying Dragon averages  between 750 & 775 with 14.3 grainers.  I doubt the TF will give you more velocity.  IIRC  Mike also recrowns the muzzle in addition to a proper lube tune.  He also runs a few shots over the chrony @ no extra charge(as opposed to the 10 for 10 @ PA).  Not slamming PA at all.  I've made several purchases from them and will make many more.  Do let us know what you decide.

I did the conversion from spring to gas ram myself using the Crosman piston from the Titan/Trail, the 1000 FPS they are quoting is most likely with non lead super light pellets. I'd guess you would see 800 - 900 defending on what lead pellets you use. Unless PA decided to use the gas ram from the Trail XL range of guns then you could see the 1000 FPS with lead?

Thanks for the replays everyone.  So Cajun if the 46 is shooting 750 with 14 grain pellets I'm guessing 1000fps wouldn't be out of reach with say a 8 or 9 grain?

Ok so based on everyone's help and my own research I have new question? If I buy the 46, do I pay $199 for a fully tuned spring gun or $189 for a non tuned gas spring?

There are pro/cons for both type of guns, so it tends to be a personal preference choice. For me I'd go with the gas ram as I can't stand the spring twang. However I'm sure Mike's tuning would include tar to tame the twang.

A tuned springer from Mike will probably produce as much or more power as a gas spring version and will be very smooth.

Thanks guys.  Paul that's what I was kinda thinking? I'm not sure as far as details but the gas version prolly isn't as refined as the fully tuned springer.  From his website it sounds like the tuned springer is completely reworked.  Decisions decisions.  Well gotta get to bed early. Going squirrel hunting in the morning with the Gamo. It's ilegal here in Florida but I'm going to Bama to my dads where it's legal.  Because I would never shoot squirrels here.

Would like to hear some sound recording of the before and after Mike works his magic. I know the stock spring setup is very very very .... twangy. Five shots was all I could do before the headache came on. It's hard for me to imagine the beast of a spring being tamed enough to make shooting enjoyable but I'm sure it can be done with the right skills and parts.

I have a AR2000 Jet from Mike, a complete monster. I also have a Flying Dragon B28, another beast of a gun. The Jet as I said is a monster, but a precise monster. After about 1500 shots, it still shoots with a fast and solid snap, with only the barest hint of a twang that unless you listen for it, you wont notice. The B28 is more of a solid thunk, without twang. I also have one of his tuned QB23's, again a solid twang free shooter. If Mike can tame the Jet and B28, I have 0 doubt he can handle just about any other springer.

I have been thinking about getting a TF99 with the Crossman Nitro Piston conversion but wish they had it in .22
