I'm still hoping someone will share the diameter of the shroud and the top air tube.

Basically a little under 25 mm.  .978 inch diameter for the shroud, and .983 inch diameter for the upper air tube.  At least, that is what I got on mine.

You are correct the air tube is just a hair bigger than the shroud , those shims I made were a bit  tighter going into the air tube side, almost to tight ,but I was able to press it in with my fingers working from side to side , a guy could do a light sanding in that area inside of the barrel band where the shim is positioned to make it a bit easer ,and a very thin amount of grease will help things slide better also ...

Another thing you will notice with these shims is it tightens up both tubes just by pressing them in ,and taking up most of the loose clearance on there own ,

The screws on the band on the ends are Tapered to a point so there is no point digging into the tubes any way ,SO the flat sides leading up to the point of the screws are what is actually making contact with the tubes , I used a little bit of grease on the screws to reduce friction when they are tightened against the shim's I made .

I don't  think this problem is that big to begin with due to the fact the point of the screw's are pointing between the tubes and flat sides of that tip are whats actually contacting with the tubes , this fact alone should put people at ease , and if you do use the shims you will notice it takes up almost all of the free play clearance between barrel band ,and the tubes ,so you just have to lightly snug down those screws  now with little force , and you are good to go    I hope this helps you guys out , so you really  don't have to worry about this contact area so much ...
