Current "winners" in the super-heavy weight .22 pellet catagory

Could NOT get that last 5 yards, were workers on th "poached" 5 yards onto the "for-sale" property behind me today....so had to setle on 40 yards and keeping inside my own property lines.




Sooooo...what is going on here (in comparsion to other folks trys at using the heavy weight .22's).

Both are Chinese made barrels.  May be they are a LITTLE bit faster twist....not much, or I'd have found it in simple tests....but maybe a little faster.

Both "winners" are single shot, but not really convienced that has "jack" to do with it.

Both with 10-shot groups under pretty-much "ideal" conditions.

Both are pretty powerful fo a .22 (so higher velocity than many). 

Both are single shot, tuned a bit, and hasve rather long/heavy LDC's which m ay not make a rat'srump of difference, but it is somthing they have in common).

Both (by testing) are good for +20 shots unregulated.


Different scopes...but an AO 10X (on the BAM 51) and a 3-9X cranked to 9X (M10) just isn't a noticable difference.


Results...at least for these two....do NOT see the buring need for 33.9gr. pellets; whatever lack a PCP has that you might thing a super-heavy weight pellet can cure...

....NOPE....they "ain't gonna".


Sooo...lets turn that M10 into a +64.5 fpe .22 and see what we will see.  It's not really too fast at 925fps...might make things interesting down range...and could find a useful place for those 33.9gr. JSB .22's.
