Another possibility: your bolt lug may not be protruding enough to reliably grab the hammer and pull it back. You noted cutting it shorter because it 'came through the other side', but maybe it only needed to be backed off a bit from fully screwed in position.

Note on making a socket for the lug removal. I use a socket head screw head 3/32nds IIR as a socket wrench , and a vise grip to turn it.

Thanks Bill & James. With all the phishing scams going on now I feel like only amazon will get my money. I don't want it to be like that. Amazon doesn't carry everything.
I'm really hoping that the GXCS3-1 I ordered is authentic and capable of filling my small dive/rescue bottle. Now I need to find more regulated bottles.
