I just bought a new Hatsan Carnivore .35 that was on sale at MidwayUSA. It will get the same treatment that my .30 got in a different thread. They only had one at that price. $550 shipped. Regards, Tom

You say Arggg like it's a bad thing...lol.
-
Since you've already modified your air tube on the 30 cal you can just use it to get a good idea what the performance will be.

I dont blame you. Although Im extremely pleased with my Carnivore's performance with mostly stock, your skill will get you two great shooters, regardless of cost. Although, its practically like 2 for 1, even if you picked up another stock to differentiate.

The problem is that the gun rack in the vault is already overfilled. I will have to start leaning guns in the corners. Regards, Tom

There would be about a 1 in 12 chance that the air valve port would line up with the transfer port good enough. That would be great if it did though.
I have seen little or nothing on anybody working on the .357 so this should be fun. Regards, Tom

You couldn't just mark where the transport port and line it up? At the most it should not be more than a half turn if it line up before the tube is completely flush.
-
the .357 is on my list but at the time I am busy with a cricket, ,30cal, AT44 bulpup, Bt65 .25, two more .30cals and LDC's will be waiting on your power gain. same platform should be the same mods just lower shot count maybe...

I have yet to figure out how you guys do that, ie line up when in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Loosen the reciever from the hammer housing, remove screw under bolt where magazine goes, loosen the back receiver going through the rear trigger guard screw hole, just loosen it 1 or two turns. Then remove the hex head screw with female threads that the center stock screw threads into. Tilt the receiver just enough to get the transfer port out. Don't loose track of the two o-rings, one at each end. You should then be able to remove the brass part that the cylinder air valve screws into. Then screw the brass part onto the air valve and drill through the transfer port hole. I used a .221 bit and the valve stem should be removed from the air valve. Then drill the transfer port and barrel port the same size. Be very, very careful. If you haven't done this type of thing before I would suggest you have Baxter do it.

Chances are that the hole would line up ok, but if the port stops just short of lining up that would require almost a full turn out, causing the port to be one thread off. It might get enough air through it to work anyway if that happened. I will test it on my .30 by backing the air tube one full turn out and see if the shot speed slows down. Regards, Tom

Ok. I interchanged my tubes just to test my long tube on my 25 cal short. I just put a mark on the tube to show where the valve hole was. With the tube screwed flush the hole was just a tad past lining up. I just backed the tube back a quarter turn and it lined up and there was no worry about the tube not being screwed in tight enough. It maybe an issue if when the tube is flush an the hole is just short of lining up to the transport port. In that case the tube would have to be turned almost a full rotation and to me it wouldn't be worth trying.

Super! Thanks Tom!

I went out and did one shot, 864fps where it is set now. I backed the air tube off one full turn and then pushed it away from the breech so it would stay in line as close as possible. Did a shot and it was 100fps slower. Remember moving the tube out shortens the hammer stroke also. Regards, Tom

How many airguns do you have? From reading some of your posts it seem like your collection is huge? ;D

I have between 75 and 80. In the last week I've received a BSA Buccaneer .177, and a .357 Hatsan, both on sale. Three weeks ago I got a Mac1 LD SE MkI 14" .22, it's a great pistol. This coming week I get a Spa P30 Velociraptor .30, and whenever the Slayers ship, I will have one of those. I should have a Crosman Bulldog sold in the next month or so. Regards, Tom

Wow! Instead of a gun safe, you need a gun room or two.

If this can hit 900fps I might get one as I got all the guitar stuff I want, and I still have a lot of 35 cal jsb's
