I got my first pocket knife when I was 6 y.o. Dad gave me a Boker (tree Brand) three blade knife, and I held on to it for about 12 years before the main blade was too small to sharpen anymore, and I replaced it with a model 7588. In over 50 years, I have had a Boker model 7588 (or equivalent) continuously; 3 knives in total. Bought my 4th model 7588 a couple years ago.
I love Bokers for their workmanship (no slop at the rivetted hinges) and ability to hold an edge. But I have also carried for the last 5 years a Leatherman Skeletool for the occaisional quick fixit jobs ...
Would love to give my son a pocket knife to carry on the tradition like my father did, unfortunately schools these days have a zero tolerance rule on "weapons".

Kershaw half ton, before that a minibuck
ETA: Kershaw Tremor if I'm going somewhere that I'm concerned about being attacked (mugging, kidnapping, etc...) 3.75" Speedsafe is a lot more intimidating than a 2.5" folding
-
I like Case knives.
Ted
-
Victorinox workchamp. I don't leave home without it.
-
Kershaw Oso Sweet during the work week, Leek on the weekends.
-
Kershaw speedsafe
-
SOG Vulcan

My step dad always carried a Case, me any knife will do. I do like my Old Timer and she is usually with me.
-
ZT0350TS and a Milwaukee fastback 2
one for use, one for abuse
-
Lb01 standard lockback buck knife......
-
Skeletool as well. Only multitool I ever found that made a decent pocket knife. Most are square and hurt my hand to use as a knife for much time.
-
Kershaw speed safe or reflex and a shrade 2 in. lock+small belt knife diff brands .
-
A Schrade my wife bought and had antler applied and engraved. It's 25+ years old. Feel naked without it.

I picked up a boker cera-tec from woot a while back, and it is by far the best knife i've ever owned, and it goes everywhere with me now. The grip, weight, balance, ease of opening/closing and the fact I've not had to sharpen it once, ever, makes it my favorite.
I've done everything from whittle toothpicks to field dress a whitetail with it. It's a really solid piece of gear.

If ,I carry I like to carrya camilus skinner knife with a 4 inch blade. It comes with a sheath which I use. A 5 inch fixed blade is legal to open carry in north dakota.I used to carry one with a gut hook it had a great handle but the gut hook bugged me I use it to cut Carrots and other veggies now.

I get the most EDC use from both a Victorinox Explorer, a Buck 371 (China Buck 301), and a Spyderco Stretch for the bigger chores.

I have that same one residing with all my other "non-edc's", and flashlights....;)

Kershaw Chive or Chris Reeve Sebenza 21

For the past year I've carried my buck 482 lite max, a 283 nano bantam, a leatherman fuse on my belt, a leatherman micra in my nite-ize pock its also on my belt , and my 2in long sheepsfoog neck knife that I made myself. But I recently got a case sod buster jr, and swaped out the nano bantam. My family kinda pokes fun at me for carrying so many knives at once, but they all have their purposes and the leatherman blades don't see any use. So even though I carry 5 blades I only use 3 of them.
-
I've been carrying a Kershaw Speedsafe 8100 for over a year now, it's huge but handy... I usually stick to Kershaw because I've been working down the street from them for almost 9 years and they have a sale every year for the factory seconds and such so they're cheap :)
I also have a Wenger mini and a Leatherman Squirt E4 in my pocket
-
I have a number of pocket knives but only carry two Victorinox models with me as I find them the most handy.
-
Kershaw speedsafe
Me too. I have three identical tanto designs. I've found these the most useful to me. I tend to use and abuse my EDC, so nothing too fancy for me. I like a solid $30 knife that I can use to cut fruit, chop up bait, or grub out a tough weed without feeling bad.
-
Feel naked without the Victorinox Super Tinker next to my wallet and tiny Classic in the front left pocket that I have carried since the early '80s. Generally have a third small lock blade belt or clip knife as well. The Victorinox knives may not be very 'macho' but they sure are handy and have been able to 'save the day' many times. Carried a small Old Timer for years before these.
-
I carried a kabar with rosewood handles since I was 16 years old even carried it through Vietnam for 17 months , they are not the same knife nowadays and I now carry a Kershaw for the past 10 years. I do still have the kabar though. David

Looks like mine, but 2 blades. :)
-
Spyderco!
Paramilitary 2 for regular EDC.
Delica 4 Spyderedge when I want something smaller.
Endura 4 for abusive chores.
My favorite was a Caly 3 carbon fiber, but I, uh, misplaced it. :'(
My girlfriend farms for a living and carries my Manix on the job.
-
Ontario RAT. I wish they made a slightly smaller version though.
-
Tennessee voted to make switchblades legal last year and about the day after the law went into effect, I got a SOG mini-auto. It is so easy to use and it still wows those that are unaware of the law when it snaps open. ;)
-
if fishing, camping or around the house, a Victorionox Handyman or a SOG multi-tool. If I just need a knife, or for hunting, a Camillus quick flip (can't remember model name) with g10 handle. Also have a big Old Timer. Just like rifles, one can never have too many!
-
I would really like to get a hand made knife from a black smith someday. :)
-
In one pocket a Swiss army knife. In the other pocket a Cold Steel Recon1.
-
collecting knives is my one true passion. I never leave the house without my Leatherman charge Ti and some form of a folder in my pocket. Today it was my Charge ti and a Strider SMF in S35vn steal. I love my Sebenza's I have a large 21 a Umnumzaan with the older pivot style and looking to add a 25 to my collections. I have a few 1 off customs in my Knife safe. I love the ZT line of knives I have 11 at last count they are some of the best made knives for the buck and backed up by Kershaws great warranty. Last year I was lucky to get a hold of one of my Grail knives the Todd Begg Bodega with Lighting strike carbon fiber scales. As of late I have been getting in to collecting High end kitchen knives from different makers. What got me started was my family had a Hardware store for many years(then Home depot showed up) and My grandfather had a Case knives and Zippo lighters in the store. And every year he would let me pick out one of the new Case knives for my collection.
This is what I have on my desk for this weeks rotation.
Leeft to right: ZT 560 with custom scale, John Graham Stubby Razzel custom, A Jason Brous Silent Solider, Strider Knives SMF with a beautiful hand done Tiger stripe Ti handle., and a Stanley 10-099 and that little quark flashlight that never leaves my desk.

I have a Leatherman Charge TTi that I carry in the truck.
My skinning knife is a Buck 110 that my grandpa gave me.
We use Victorinox for taxidermy and I have always been impressed with the blade they take.

Kizer not sure the model number off the top of my head best value in knives imho titanium scales s35vn blade steel stonewashed blade under $110 great little flipper quick and smooth too likes push button style more than light switch though non assisted (http://i1341.photobucket.com/albums/o752/brandynbanville/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150806_190553673_zpsiv1tz9hk.jpg) (http://s1341.photobucket.com/user/brandynbanville/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150806_190553673_zpsiv1tz9hk.jpg.html)

More than anything else, a SOG Flash 1. After that a Swiss Army Tinker small.
-
Victorinox workchamp. I don't leave home without it.
This has been my favorite for years too. The workchamp's features are very well designed.
I tried to buy another last year and was unable to find this model on the Victorinox website. Hope they did not discontinue this knife.

Cool!
Can it be flipped open? Here in this lovely state the cops will take your knife hold it close to their chest with their elbow closed and fling their arm open as hard as they can. If the blade budges even 1/10 of an inch they will declare it a gravity knife and arrest you.
-
Uncle Henry. Stockman or Cattleman , can't remember which. I picked it up in the early 80's . Looks just like the one in post # 12

its funny how knives and flashlights are so addictive, just like airguns.

I got several of knives. My everyday knife I use for maintenance the last 3 years is a small Leatherman c33. Most useful part of the tool? Clearly, the bottle opener.
-
Zero Tolerance 0808... I love it
I own several Kershaw and Zero Tolerance..
They seem to get even better with every release.

Yep but only if you do a push button style flip (preload) I can test that and see if it budges its got a decent detent...
-
Did that test for you and I didn't get it to budge at all so id say you are safe! Its a really nice knife I'd highly recommend it polish the washers up and its smooth as glass and fast once you figure out the flipping technique.
