For the last 2 summers my wife has not wanted me to shoot the HOSP. They were high on the cute scale so they have been off limits. Today we were sitting outside enjoying the cooler weather. Our sunflower patch was full of beautiful gold finch's eating the seeds. A HOSP landed in the mists of them and started to tear into the sunflowers. I now have permission to take care of the HOSP!! Than I have been trying to talk her into buying her a airgun for herself. She said "you just want an excuse to buy another airgun". Can you believe that? How could anyone think that I would want to buy another airgun? I mean I have 3, how could she think I would want more?

Well I am going to get HER a Crossman 2400KT from the custom shop. 18 Inch barrel, I was gong to put the nice stainless moderator on the end. Then I read on Crossman's site that it serve no purpose other than decorative. Forget that. I have a nice BSA red dot optic for it already. Still deciding between .177 or .22. It will even be engraved with her name. So how could she think it was for me........

They are my favorite! We also have a Red headed finch here in Idaho. Not as striking as the gold but still very pretty. I love to hear them singing!

Bob,
I think she's gonna bump me off and take everything.
It's all my fault too.
I sent her for shootin lessons.....a year later , she's banging steel at 1100 yards with a .308........ I've got too hide somewhere --quick!

I can see why! But that would cost a bit more than $95.00

It sounds like she is coming around. Good job!

My wife claims she doesn't like shooting, but anytime I get her out I can't shoot at all because she's hogging all the pellets! She also claims she doesn't like hunting, but when the starlings come to town and her avianphobia kicks into high gear, she grabs her little de tuned break barrel and I'll have about 50 birds to pick and clean when I get home....

whats a HOSP?

whats a HOSP?
;) English House sparrow = invasive species = pest = fair game as are starlings aka yellow beaks

whats a HOSP?
;) English House sparrow = invasive species = pest = fair game as are starlings aka yellow beaks
Fish and games most wanted
Starling=vile, disgusting, evil vermin. The only redemptive thing about a Starling is the sound they make when a pellet hits them.
HOSP= Cute, little invasive species. Fast repopulating and depleting resources for the native species.
Eurasian collared doves, Not an unattractive bird but one that tends to overpopulate. I hear their tasty to boot.
I like to add Magpies to this list...filthy creatures.

Unfortunately the Magpie for some unholy reason is a Federally protected bird

Yes they are...but the Fed regulation states that if they are being harmful of a nuisance, they can be removed. That's a pretty broad statement.
