Not sure where to post this but. Is the any advantage or disadvantaged to run low or high rings? I have high ri gs on my at44 but want to run low rings.

As long as your magazine will clear the scope and your eye allignments with the scope, there shouldn't be any problem using low rings.
-
I always use extra extra high rings on my long guns. I'm right handed but shoot with my left eye. Lost vision in my right eye to a acid burn back in 95. :(

It's a combination matter of cheek weld/personal preference/the sort of shooting you do.
Low rings are fine, & like Dave said once the mag can clear the scope tube no worries. I have found that low rings are better for shorter range shooting & using flatter shooting ammo.
High rings are good for if you do longer range shooting but they can present a challenge wrt cheek weld & eye placement for some people, so they aren't suitable for all guns or for everyone. They are better for longer distance shooting because the center of the reticle cross-hairs are a lot higher than the bore. So for example, you can have say a 75 yard primary zero & a 14 secondary zero, with everything in between those two requiring varying degrees of hold under, & past 80 requiring hold over.
Med rings offer a decent compromise between the two.

Thanks that's what I was wondering I have high rings on my at44 long we it's my primary long range gun out to 100-125yrds. I think it just doesn't look very good with the scope sitting so high on the rifle.

You know you should spend your time looking through the scope, & not at the scope right ;D
-
I like high rings for longer range shooting as well. Just be aware that it makes cant error more pronounced so be sure to use a level.

Yeah but I like a slick looking gun. High rings make it look bulky.

Yeah I learned that yesterday. I made a shot on a dove that ranged at 95 yards. Hold over was perfect pellet went by him about 3" Tk t be left. Checked my reticale alignment & it was off. Got it straight& now it's just a waiting game again.
