Title: So what's on your wish list?
Post by: Genolution on January 16, 2015, 08:48:54 PM
Since I have been twiddling my thumbs waiting for air gun reform in Michigan, I have had lots of time to consider my options. While there are many models I would love to have I think I have managed to condense A short list of "must haves".
  1) Benjamin Discovery (22). Because I love how easy it is to pump being that it operates on less than 2,000 psi while still delivering a respectable amount of power on small game. The customization options seem endless. And I have yet to read any discouraging reviews.
  2) any one of 2260/1322/2289 (.22). Because when modified I believe they could be excellent small game hunters that can fit in a backpack. And tinkering and customizing appeals to my OCD....OCD, I hate that acronym because the letters are not in alphabetical order:)
  3) Kalibrgun cricket carbine (.25) Because It is just beautiful. And I hear it shoots pretty straight too.

Well, that's my short list. What have you been eyeballing lately? I would love to hear what some more experienced and discerning enthusiasts/addicts have on their short list and why.

There's only one air rifle I want.
A FX Bobcat .25.
$1800 here. If I buy it from Sweden, $1100.

A Benjamin Discovery .22, complete with pump. The idea of being able to leave it fully charged indefinitely is very appealing, plus I'm really curious about the PCP business. Wouldn't have to worry about any springer-rating on a scope either- & I have several scopes that would work just fine, that's one thing wouldn't have to buy. Lightly modded, with a- ah- moderator, or shroud, it should make very good medicine for house-destroying furry-tailed tree rats- be they fox, gray, or black(we have all three here). Or even raccoons, they've become big trouble too.

Ah yes, I seen that on Teds holdover. They seem to be quite accurate. The bobcat indy  is on my slightly longer list.

Since this is a wish list I'll start with what I want the most and work my way down.

Kalibr Colibri Hummingbird - silver finish, .22, black stock.
Extreme Big Bore or XP Airguns - Something 500-1000 fpe 2-3 shots.

Those 2 along with my Talonp would cover my plinking and Hunting.

Guns I want just for messing around with. (Not in any order)

Remington Express wood stock (Clearance sales make this a great valve)
Hatsan 135 in .177 (The kid in me still wants to see how fast I can make a pellet go and the crack is cool)
Crosman NP2 .22 camo (I like my NP Trail and want to try the NP2)
Marauder 2nd gen .22 cal.(Refrub. if the price was right)
Webley Alecto Ultra .177 or Webley Alecto .20 cal (No ultra in .20)
Weihrauch HW30S (I just want one)
Gamo Shadow 1000 in Nickel finish (Used, no longer made)

I could go on.....I doubt I will spend much on another airgun though, I'll go for the Kalibr Colibri (Hummingbird) before investing too much in another airgun. I Don't have time shoot and tinker with what I got already.

As of today my wish list is caught up.   I now have the parts to switch back and forth between a 2289g, 2240, and 2240 HPA (many parts shared), and my Crosman 140 is in route.

I already have all of the optics I want, I already have all the tools I want (mill, metal working lathe, drill press, drimel, and a large assortment of hand tools).

So the only thing left is raw materials, to make unique new parts :) .   The only thing left on my wish list.

A gun that you don't have to pump, use CO2, does not need HPA, has no springs or pistons. Shoots dime sized groups out to 100 yards. Is not hold sensitive and cleans and lubes itself. Has a scope that never needs to be aligned. Has a beautiful metal and wood finish, and best of all is free! (Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, and Fairy Godmother, please take note) In short, Super Airgun! :P ::) ;D

My second choice would be a Drozd Blackbird. 8)

I'd settle for an Umarex EBOS ;D

I'd probably accept another Steel Storm. :D

I'll actually end up with a tin of pellets. ;)

I'll add one more DREAM gun to my list:

Uses a form of air cartridges that is no bigger than 45-70 cartridge, is .25 and/or .30 caliber, has minute of squirrel accuracy, and looks like a 1874 Sharps rifle...

projectile area of the cartridge is sized for either pellets, or boolits
has a TJ barrel liner with octagonal outer barrel
barrels can be changed out depending on caliber, and type of projectile
has 4 standard barrels- 2 in .25, 2 in .30- pellet or boolit
power is regulated by how much pressure you put in the air cartridge
the rifle is made so that any sights that a Sharps rifle can use, the air rifle can use
double set-triggers (of course!!)

I think that right there is THE dream rifle for me!!!

I had thought about getting one in .25 cal but just couldn't get enough info on them. All the critical review coverage is on the semi auto version and the .357. I see you have a few evanix rifles. What kind of accuracy and shot count would you expect from a tuned .25 ml?

Check out the Brocock Concept if you like the CZ200 but want 25 fpe. Hard to compare a 15 vs 25 fpe rifle but those Concepts are very accurate. They are made in England, 6 pounds, six shot repeaters with German Weihrauch barrels. I had the last generation Concept and it was as accurate as I could shoot.

Top gun has them on sale for $695. Link:  http://www.topgun-airguns.com/Concept-Elite_p_75.html (http://www.topgun-airguns.com/Concept-Elite_p_75.html)

long list would be .357 repeater in the 200 fpe range
.45 in the 300 fpe range. both accurate and light.

Has a scope that never needs to be aligned. Has a beautiful metal and wood finish, and best of all is free! (Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, and Fairy Godmother, please take note) In short, Super Airgun!

I think you left out the "and has 783 FPE using WallyWorld CPHP's in a tin, no sorting, no washing" ;-)

I knew I was forgetting something! :P ;D

You do realize that is 5000 FPS +/- a foot or 2 lol
I bet that thing would melt in mid air  :o
I would hate to get hit with a piece of 2000 degree piece of molten lead or maybe by the time it hit it would be molten gas lol

Sorry, Bullpup! Lightweight and easy to get around in the woods and thick under growth.

Next up on my list is a Crosman 101 or three.   Then a 120 to round out the collection :).

It would be nice to see someone mass produce something like these again.

Nobody makes those kind of rifles because nobody cares about them anymore, LOL .....popular demand is for completely different guns, pumpers are a dieing breed ;)

MAX-ML .45 cal BullPup
I had thought about getting one in .25 cal but just couldn't get enough info on them. All the critical review coverage is on the semi auto version and the .357. I see you have a few evanix rifles. What kind of accuracy and shot count would you expect from a tuned .25 ml?

Essentially a MAX-ML .25 is the same gun as a Rainstorm .25 so anything you read about a Rainstorm .25 will be what you get in the MAX-ML

I personally hate wish lists. Unless you are rich, it's a waste of time. As the old saying goes, if wishes were horses, beggars would ride. And who could forget the old 'poop in one hand and wish in the other. See which one fills first'. :o Better to just be happy with what you have. (getting off my soapbox now)

My 34 Compact has a stress crack above the trigger guard. A new stock is on my wish list.

Link: http://www.dlairgun.com/Accessories/Diana/002_34_Premium_Grade_Stock_DIA34S-PR.html (http://www.dlairgun.com/Accessories/Diana/002_34_Premium_Grade_Stock_DIA34S-PR.html)
So does mine.
Thanks for the link.

I contacted D+L , they do not ship to the USA and the stock in the link will not fit the 34 Compact.

Just got my wish last month after searching for almost a year. BSA Polaris .177 (discontinued in 2012). 1st springer, if I was granted another wish it would be a TX200.
Bill.

There aren't many on my wishlist these days, as I have several air rifles that I really love and that are high quality. What I'd really like to find is a Baikal IJ-22, but I rarely see them. Awhile back, I thought about buying one, but didn't jump on it fast enough. If anyone sees one, please let me know.
