Yep. it works. ;D

Very nice indeed
-
Now that's quite the artillery piece! Very nice indeed! That qualifies as 'tacticool'! 8)
-
It's a Silver Kodiak X2 breech swapped in.
8)
Maybe I should name it TactiKody?
;D
Now I need a chrony to get some figures.
:o
-
This Gun is nothing more then the platform many of us know and like alot.
My thread on the Beeman Silver Kodiak rebuild has all the information one needs to take it down.
The stock covers some screws you need to remove just to get to the power plant.
2 screws in the hand grip, slide it off and remove the hidden screw.
Remove the 2 screws near the breech.
Remove the sorry excuse for a rail on top and there's a screw there also.
Then pull the top plastic cover back to get it all apart.
You now have the power plant which is nothing more then the Beeman Sportster series stuff.
Breech swap was a straight exchange. Trigger is the infamous 'Mystery trigger'.
Mine has the rear spring removed for a lighter pull. I suspect previous owner did that.
Recoil is surprisingly light compared to a Silver Kodiak. Maybe the heavy stock is the reason?
I had no dieseling as the Gun was bought used and had already been fired some.
This is now a dual cal gun but I may buy a black model dual cal and switch again.
It does look neat with the Silver stuff though.

so sweet!!! Excited to see how this project turns out!

TactiKody with the Bi-pods and CP 3x9x40 AO scope
(http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n12/privateer_2006/Air%20Rifles/IBOTS/TactiKody-1.jpg)
The rail mount is a bad point. I have Weaver rings but they don't fit properly and will take some work to get it set properly.
At 20 yards I shot at a Pepsi can. I did not zero but used the mil dots to pull on target as the scope is whacked due to the rail issue.
Over all? I'm saying this is a sweet mod to get the .22 and still have the .177 should you want it.
Recoil is not what one would expect if you have fired a Beeman X2 version before. Very forgiving and the Bi-pods are not bad at all!
Kind of loose so you need to lean forwards then lean back to get rid of the slack in them.
I fired with one hand under the grip to raise it on target and a fairly light pull into my shoulder.
I hit the can every time after the first shot. 1" or so between hits.
Not bad with a crooked scope.
And you saw it here at GTA first!!!
;D
-
Ya. I'm kind of proud of this.

Impressive work! So excited for my side mount bipods, I put my old barrel bipod on haha!

I'm liking all the "tactical" break barrel projects going on right now! I'm starting mine as soon as the delivery man shows up with it!

I LOVE this Gun!!
The neighbor came over and I had him fire a few of my AG's as we talked about neighbor stuff.
I told him "I need to test for 75 yards on a beer bottle."
3rd shot? I took one out!!
Clean kill that sent me out of my chair!!!
;D
The Black Op in .177 or .22 is a great little Gun and the Bi-pods work perfectly!!
Is it heavy? Yes. You don't want to tote this around for long.
Is it accurate? Less then 30 shots once converted to .22 and I take a beer bottle at 75 yards? I'd say yes!!

That is truly awesome! Didn't have as good of luck myself today. Had trouble hittle a beer can at 40 yards. I may have damaged my rifle :/
-
This platform has always been a keeper in my eyes.
The heavy frame works very well with the shakey Bi-pods.
The recoil is light compared to other Guns I have and cocking is real easy also.
Noise is not bad and I was a bit surprised at how quite it actually is!
Even my neighbor only heard the impacts of the rounds. And he was only 15 or so yards away watching me shoot!
-

Gah! What did you do!
-
You need the brass washers as a start.
At 17 FPE? George's NVD hit beer bottles at 75 yards with Gamo 15.43 Wad cutters!

Idk :( I tightened my scope before I went out. Been using the same pellets. Idk what I did unless it was from oiling the gun? It's not the scope. I'm shooting same spot each time, and it flying left right and up, like all the time. Freaking out! What did I do!? :(

You're talking the trigger washer eh? I guess i'll tear the gun down again lol
-
What did you oil?
Just the breach hinge :/
-
Nope. Two washers on the breech where it pivots. Stock are plastic and those cause most of the issues I'm told.
-
You may have the 'can't hit &^^&' issue due to plastic washers.
I'll give you $75.00 bucks for it.
;D

shoot! Well i better get on that too! :/
Any ideas for sourcing?
-
If you can get them from Gene? There's info in threads about getting them from Lowe's and such.
That's the best thing about GTA. The information is here and all you need to do is ask.
Remember! The only stupid question is the one you don't ask!
You sure you don't want $75.00?
;)

so..... took my barrel off... looks a lot like steel black washers... certainly not plastic :/ You're talking at the part the breach pivots right?
-
even if they are plastic, i cannot see how those would even come out :/

I never worked on the NVD. George did Dusky so I'd defer to his advise on those washers.
Now you want to know about this Chinese Gun? I can answer those questions.
;D

Congrats and good luck. You and I both need a chrony. I'll see if I can find a bkx2 .22 barrel. I'm thinking about mounting some suction cups on the bipods for the glass table I shoot off of. Do I need any special tools to pull it apart completely?
Edit...
I found the barrel quickly and it's cheap too, I just cannot seem to locate a breech block.
-
Takeing the 'Fat Lady clothes off' is easy. Just take your time and look at it.
I'll get some pics later.
For the swap to dual cal? Buy a used dual cal Beeman. Post in the GTA classified and you should get an offer.
There are TONS of these out there but We just may have raised the price on them!
Tools I used were a phillips screw driver and a hex wrench.

She looks pretty mean. >:( Sort of has the anti-tank look with that muzzle brake! Man, when they come out with the gas ram version, I'll be saving my pennies! ;D

Do you have a chrony? Looks like you can blow up a tank with that haha
-

Traded my F1 and sent it out in the mail just an hour before this one arrived!
:P
It looks big and bad but it's still a .22
It's really a fun shooter and sure makes the neighbors look!
;D
-
I'm excited for updates on this!
-
Changed to the rings that came with this Gun. My Weavers would not fit due to the ungodly amount of paint on the rail.
I could strip the paint but I have doubts about it as it is a cast metal piece of work.
Looks like I'll be looking for a new rail and drill it to fit as I really don't like how high the scope sits now.

Kinda not worthy. Could get the g36c rails I bought. They're like $25 :)

What about http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AC-MNT-HGR16S.htm (http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AC-MNT-HGR16S.htm)?
-
I'll find a blank rail with no holes or have one made if need be.
The stock rings are working well so far. Still like the lower weavers better but they just won't fit this rail.
I have another trigger group that I already worked over. It has the Silver trigger so I may go ahead and swap it in.
And change out the insides since I have all that polished and sitting here.
;D

Got it all tore down again to get ready to do the internal parts swap and hone-deburr.
I took it a little farther and completely removed the butt stock stuff.
I've started to mod that so it will be removeable like the barrel.
Now I'll need a 22" brief case to hide it all in.
;D
The part behind the beveled area will be cut off and an adapter made so it all slides back together.

I can tear things down just fine. It's the getting it all back together so it works that I fail in lol ::) :-[ ;)
-
well, i'm excited to see progression! :D
-
Well, I'm committed now. (Or should be committed)
Started the cut and got half way when the batteries died in my Versapak Saw.
It's a 3 to 6 hour charge time for that old thing but I'll give it an hour only.
It runs a bit slower with an incomplete charge and makes it easier to control plus doesn't melt the plastic.

I'm hoping to find my vltor bipod in the mail!

You can see where I'm cutting the stock and the Saw I'm useing.
I also looked close at the big hunk of metal on the original barrel end.
Was hopeing I could use it for the Steel Storm as a 'quiet it downer'.
But it's just a big hunk of steel.

Got the cut finished and cleared the internal braceing from the butt stock area.
Next is to clear the braceing from the main stock itself.
Once this is all removed I'll smooth the internals and start the adapter part.
I have one of those dremal flex shaft things with drums to do the smoothing.
I'm about 2 inches in so far.

NICE! Clean job too! :D

A couple hours with needle nose pliers and a wood chisel and the bulk is removed ready for dremel work.
The black stub is simulating where the adapter will be.

Old Skool Dremel. ;D

what is up your sleeve now! :P
-
what is up your sleeve now! :P
Nothing. That's my old Dremel jig saw that has the flex shaft attachment.
Probably made before you were a twinkle in Mom and Dad's eyes.
;D
My other Master Mechanic dremel type tool is even older! Bought it in the late 70's early 80's.
The air brush I'll be useing to do the paint job is mid to late 80's also.
-
All grinding and sanding is done for the removable stock so far.
I'll start on the adapter next. I'm undecided on what I'll use.
I'm thinking an aluminum tube with a fiberglass wrap which I'll grind/sand to fit.

still excited to see!!!! Mine's about done! Tested it today, 35~ yards 2" circle approximately rested using bipod :)

I'm working on a recoil absorber that will fit in the Stock adapter.
That would allow the main part of the AG to recoil but not put the full force back into my shoulder.
It doesn't recoil all that bad but it's something I wanted to mess with a bit.
;D
