Mines pretty much a copy of Stefan's Mac-1.
It was "born" a 1377, then it "morphed" into a 1322 Carbine,... w/some racin' parts too.

Shown here with the  TruGlo Red Dot sight and 1377 pump handle and Rat light

Same gun shown here with a 4X32 cheapy scope, 2289 DBO pump handle, and same Rat Light

The 13xx series are great guns and a hoot to work on. There are many after market goodies available to improve the gun and its accuracy.

Tons of potential.

There are tons of mod parts out there for the 13xx platform.  Mr. Chavka makes some great parts as does bluefork.  Here is mine. It seems to change all the time.

HA !!! man, ya'll aint play'n !!!  absolute pistol porn, never imagined all of this, wher does a guy start ??

Horse power...what parts from wher to make for a dependable & stout punch ??  I've read about a flat top piston but wouldnt some other parts need to be beefed up to take the added presure or help the added presure flow better ??

Wher are the longer barrels come'n from ??

And....do ya'll put the parts in or does the gun have to be sent to a pro ??

Great pics guys, works of art indeed, was hope'n to start after Christmas but dont know if I can hold out that long.

Big thanks for the inspiration.

Nice (Looking) but how fast do they shoot? Modified 1377's are about speed.

Hahaha !
You think these are extreme ? You haven't  seen any of the "Over the Top" builds yet ! wait till you see what some of the "Crosmainiacs" have done with custom machined brass and one off stuff.

check this recent thread:
http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=45838.0 (http://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=45838.0)

then go check out the CAPOF boys builds... (most of us here are also on there too)

Have fun, and happy reading.
Looking forward to seeing yous get built.
Make sure to post up your pics

got my 24 inch .22 barrel from crosman for $18 delivered . part of the beauty of these guns is how easy they are to work on . no "pro" needed , there's lots of videos on youtube on doing mods to these guns and a forum dedicated to them .

The main issue is pivot pin hole stretch.
I have an aftermarket aluminum barrel band that I have a hardened 3/16" pivot pin with E clips. I drilled & tapped the pump tube with the barrel band and installed cut flush 10-32 socket head cap screws (SHCS).

Mine are low buck and tame compared to many, but the 2289 above has a 24" barrel from Crosman installed and a shimmed pump cup, another 1377 has a polished grip frame with a home made flat top piston and valve, the other 4 13XX guns are stock... (no that's not including the 2240 or the 130...) the 2240 in the pic above has the stock 12" barrel from the 2289 on it but otherwise pretty stock...

Thoses air guns are awesome and look great.if you're worried about hinge pin hole
Stretching  from high compression get some bushings made coped with an end mill to match the radius of the
Pump tube.then tig weld them to the tube with a high alloy rod s-100 or stainless 316L for more bearing surface.
This is a delicate procedure you don't need to overheat  or burn through the tube(don't be a fool keep it cool).
Then fit a take down cross shoulder bolt (10/32 is ideal)with a nut to hold it all in place.
Now it will be distributing the pumping stress on the bushings & tube more instead of just the holes.

curious: on mine the top of the reciever is squared off & made of plastic, some in the pictures have a round reciever made of metal, is this a difference between year models or wher rifle barrels have been fitted to the pistol frame ??

All new guns have plastic breeches.
The steel ones are after market breeches.
You can get one at Crosman.

Thanks for the reply, I realized what it was after poke'n around on YT & found a video of a guy change'n one out, the guy mentioned something about he couldnt use the bolt to cock the spring & he had to pull a plunger from teh back of the reciever to compress the spring, is this an older 1377 he used in teh demonstration or a nessasry add on ?? have'nt noticed it on any others tho.

The earlier (pre '97 I think) 13XX guns had a rear cocking knob like you saw in the video, don't worry about that as yours doesn't apply to that method.

You are correct.
Older 1377's had a different breech with a sliding cover to open the breech, them you had a rear knob to pull and cock the pistol.

Later version 1377's have the bolt action which does both. Opens the breech AND cocks the hammer.

When putting a aftermarket steel breech (with Bolt action) onto a OLDER 1377,... the bolt only opens the breech, but the rear knob remains for cocking.

When putting a aftermarket steel breech with bolt action onto a NEWER 1377, ... The bolt opens the breech AND cocks the pistol.

This video shows an OLDER 1377. Look closely at the breech.
It has the OLDER rotating covered breech.

Replaced my roll pin on my 2289g.

Four 10-32 acorn nuts,nickle plated=14 cents ea.
the extras are for my 1377 pistol.

Mike, I am concerned that the threads will accelerate wear on the pump arm linkage.  It would be much better to cut a short piece of 3/16" (smooth) rod and thread the ends to accept the acorn nuts.

The weak point is not the tube. The holes will elongate in the pump arm linkage, not the tube. A hardened precision ground pivot pin that is kept properly lubricated will do more for the longevity of your pump linkage than will any threaded machine screw.

Michael,
I think I had seen somewhere at one time, where a guy had drilled the linkage a bit larger, then used a brass shoulder bushing in the linkage, with a solid pin.
Are you familiar with these ?

my 1377s roll pin started walking also the 1322 is still
I used drill bit shank and because it is only temp till I get the one I ordered ,  rubber band wrapped tight on each side hold it tightly in place.

If  I  liked the look I could  chuck it up in  my drill press and use my dremel or die grinder to machine a groove for  C-clips...
Title: Re: My 1377 realy wants modded.
Post by: K.O. on October 12, 2013, 09:31:56 PM

I should say also that the hole was slightly smaller than the shank and rather than drill it out I milled the shank down slightly.

I put it in my drill press shank side down and hit it with an angle grinder and then used the grinder to cut to length.

I can't see how using a brass bushing, which is softer than the metal in the pump linkage, would help to prevent wear. For what it would cost to have the work done, you could replace the linkage.

Bill in SC,
That happens a lot. Most times, new members need to send an email directly to the administrator.
They have the security settings set very high to prevent spammers. Here is a copy/paste from the first page of CAPOF regarding registration... (so send an email to the addy listed below, and you should get accepted)

Hope this helps,
