Do you prefer the mag or a tray?
New to this and loading a mag is time consuming...
I may look for a tray.
-
SST for me.
Rifle or pistol?
The Gauntlet one from Umarex was less than a $ when I bought it and fits the MROD.
Works on a PROD too if you sand the bottom :-*
-
Someone on here 3D prints them on here maybe they will chime in.
Bob

This would be the Mrod. this ones .25
What would a 3D one cost??
-
I don't know what he charges and can't remember name. But is on this board. There is a company that sells them but we don't talk about them in GTA for past reasons. LOL

Ok thanks. and I understand the last part! lol

Hi,
I have a Marauder in .25 caliber and started using the Mags but then switched to the singleshot tray as it slowed down my shooting which in turn seemed to improve accuracy. I feel it also helps to reduce the chance of damaging a pellet.
Just on old guys opinion.

Mine only came with one mag, and it's slow to load.
Tray would be faster.
-
And then there is CARM

-
If you know someone with a 3d printer there are several single shot tray designs available for free. I prefer using the magazines over the shot trays because I have trouble getting my fingers in the space and about half the time have a pellet roll in backwards. And for me, I don't consider loading magazines as double handling pellets because I am only touching the pellets once.

Hey Wendell.
Give Troy a call or send him and email at Big Air Precision.
https://www.bigairprecision.com/index.html
If he don't already have one he's always up for making new stuff and I'm sure he'll get you fixed up.
He makes some flip out single shot mags for other guns that are pretty slick. They fit the mag slot in the breech and just flip out to load a pellet. Much easier than fumbling with trying to put a pellet in a normal SST.
-
I purchased 4 magazines. I reload all of them at once. Fill the Marauder with air. By the time I shoot all of the pellets, I'm ready for more air. When I select pellets, I have more than 40 pellets in a group so I'm decently efficient doing it this way.
-
Easy choice for me. The mag that came with my Mrod will only hold six or so before the tang on the spring lets go. So I bought a tray on fleabay.
Recently some Carm mags arrived along with their swing out single shot loader. I plan to try those this week.
At the bench I always use a tray. Mags are for safaris.

Same.. I buy enough mags to supply a full fill on all of my repeater PCP guns. Then I top the gun off and reload the mags. The only issue there is that you can really blow through the lead. :o
-
Because I do almost ALL of my shooting while hunting, more than one magazine is a MUST.
My Marauder .25 is deadly with the factory magazines. So that is the way I roll.
-
I went out of my way to by a couple of extra mags for my Marauder but ever since made the Single Shot Tray the mags have mostly dropped in disuse.
I made it all by hand way before I got a 3d printer (or any of my friends for that matter). I did such a good job that I just don't feel the need to redesign it in cad and 3d print it.
-
I've read about some folks carving a single shot tray out of one of those square pencil erasers. They made them snug enough to hold themselves in. They measure the location and drilled the hole first then cut it half leaving the trough for the pellet. I suppose you could make an sst out of just about anything including wood.
-
Sounds pretty much exactly how I mane mine ... but I did not want to use wood because them humidity could be an issue ... I made mine from solid PE.
-
Thanks everyone for input!

Dan (scion19801) has printed a lot of items for me in the past. This would include a very nice Marauder single shot tray with inserts for different calibers. You might send him a PM.

That's pretty handy right there.

well it may be a while. Now at a standstill.
I am setting this to run on bulk Co2 and had it pretty good last night. Was just going to try it out again today and sight it in on my pellet trap.
it leaked down overnight.
Proceeded to refill it. Shut the tank off, slide the little check sleeve on the hose and took it off. Went off with a Pop and all the gas leaking out the Foster (?) fill fitting.
Looking at the end of the fitting I see what looks like a tightly balled up screen! Checked fittings on my other two guns, no such thing.
So maybe came out of the fitting on the hose....
Got a pick and dug it out. Blew out the fitting with canned air, and retried gassing it up. gasses up fine, then leaks all out when you disconnect.
Done for today.
-
PM me with your address and I'll send you a 3D printed tray.
-
I got back on it. found a post here from years back and followed advice. devil of a time getting the fitting out...some kind of black tape on the threads.
I almost gave up. Finally got it out and the seal on the check valve was in pieces.
I dug around in my seals. 9mm seal from a P17 works beautiful! Doesn't leak!
All back together, and now out of gas. Grrr.

Works great. Dan does good work and has helped me out a bunch in the past with needing lefthanded parts. It looks like he may have tapped out on the GTA with his last post being in April 2023. I have seen him on another forum, but I haven't been there in a while myself.

Think he charged around $20 bucks or so,?
Another option is CARM,,,, WWW,carm-magazines,com
-
I think that Carm magazines are the way to go, much better then the original Marauder magazines.
-
Keith, is that a left hand load SST, or is the picture reversed?

I have the fold out type from Maple Custom Products. Works great and the orange color makes it hard to loose.
-
So got down to the back lawn today and put 2 clips through the Benjamin Marauder .25. I go back and forth between tray and clip. Tray for indoors. Clip will be when my neighbor calls on me to rid him of a woodchuck.
I have it running on CO2. Got back in and tweaked the adjustments a bit more, for a bit more power.
Lugging this around is work! Heaviest gun I have. ;)
-
I bet in .25 and CO2 it puts out quite the thump :)

Okay, so far.
The distance I'm shooting there's no problem(!) drilling through both sides of a bean can. ;D
but, wow, this is a heavy rifle.
-
"wow, this is a heavy rifle."
My brother made a similar comment when I handed him my Marauder as we were crossing a fence.
-
A while back JSAR was selling a light weight tube that took about 1 1/2 pounds off the gun mainly towards the front. I put one on mine before I sold it. It really did make a huge difference.
-
I made my Marauder heavier to use as a bench gun, I need a wagon to get it to the range :)

I do have a bipod for it, and no use for it or place to set it up :o

Same here. If I can't hit anything from the back deck. Then it doesn't get shot. LOL

No, it loads from the right side.

It sure does. I have those lightweight tubes on both of my Marauders. Made them like new guns and much more enjoyable.

They still have them for Gen 2 with and without guage hole. Shows $180
