Title: I don't want to post anything!

Why can't I just read or search the posts or archives?
Guess I'll write some more, because I need 30 words to pass through to the info. When I type into the search box it just tells me "error has occurred", so I selected a gate but I couldn't search within it either.
Now I have to type until this thing let's me hopefully be able to just read some posts 🙂

Really could care less for the Huggies for the undeserving few with no manors what so ever.  Mirror perhaps, but then again really don't care.

If society in general was less tolerant of such attitudes as OP stated ... Folks who have defined principals and enough balls to say something would not need to speak up and say knock it off.

Take it easy folks. We have a great forum that was made great by the members here. Lots of good discussions and tons of very useful info. We have over 20,000 members and not all have contributed. It is what it is. Some want to come here just to use us as a classified forum and many come here just to learn and glean what they can of our vast library of information. It's too bad not everyone feels the need to contribute but to take......I've just learned to live with it.
GTA Forums is still, and will remain, the best airgun forum on the internet thanks to good members!!!!

No disrespect meant to anyone here but I thought one of the rules was to keep personal disputes and confrontations in PM.

OP, the whole reason for the introduction is because we are a private forum what consists of folks from around the World with a shared interest in airgunning. Many friends have been made here among our members and many of these friendship have grown beyond the scope of the hobby.
All we ask is that new members say a few lines about themselves and what brought them to our community. This forum has only grown to be what it is because of folks sharing knowledge and experience.
Other forums have come and gone. A few due to the wild wild west atmosphere.
There are no rules that says a member has to participate on any regular basis. But I don't see any harm in a new member tipping his/her hat as they enter the door for the first time.

You might be surprised to learn how much knowledge and sharing has come to this forum that began with the content of a new member's welcome post.

The stretch of this forum absolutely amazed me the day I had an airgun related casual conversation with a guy from Trinidad. It struck me that something like that would have never happened if not for this forum. I have learned much more from being a member of this forum than just airgun stuff.

I thought the welcome post was simply a step to help keep bots and such out of GTA. I don't have a problem with it myself.

Most, if not all, of that has already been done behind the scenes before they even get to the Welcome Gate.
It don't stop some of them from being a jerk tho.   :-\

Too true but life has it's fair share of lemons and thorns but it's those bullseye's and good people at GTA that make those others fade away real fast. The whole intro thing is a rule and a formal formality.

Maybe the welcome post should be optional then? The vast majority of the 20,000 or so members don't participate in a meaningful way after doing it anyway. If you want to be a part of the best airgun forum on the internet (I really mean that), you'll join in and welcome the new friendships.

Hey guys! What a warm welcome for such a terrible attitude I had. Thank you, I am impressed and apologetic. I honestly didn't think they would let that fly  :o
Since I already stuck my barrel in the mashed potatoes and showed off my posterior, maybe I could contribute something useful. It's probably been done b4, but here is what I've discovered (pun intended)

WITH UPGRADED VALVE SCREWS ONLY!!!
I pushed a 35 grain huben bullet to 1273fps with about 4300psi. Next 2 shots were 1226 & 1224.
 Had to fab a brass cocking handle that screwed into my hammer, which added more than enough weight to open the valve at that pressure, and allowed me to actually cock the beast spring (3\8 dia .063 thick)

I reload for myself and others, so I wanted to see if I could get 22lr ballistics with air and it worked.
Albeit 3 "usable" shots from a lil Benjamin Discovery air tank, they all passed clean through a dried landscape timber (3.5 in).
I also make selfbows and shoot competitively with them, but I just love me some free air!

I've trolled this forum for years (2007) and appreciate the massive database of knowledge you all have built.
I hope to contribute more as I design and build my own air rifles in the future.
