repairing a crosman 110 rifle

 I have been given a non working 110. It will not pump up. I have worked on pump up airguns before. Has anyone here worked on these guns? I have it almost all apart except for the air chamber. I made a tool and removed the nut. Do I also have to remove the stock bolt to get the air chamber out? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

On these older models the air chamber is not removable, it's soldered into the tube and you can only remove the valve internals. If you don’t have to, don’t mess with the chamber, except for cleaning the check valve seat.

I have the Crosman service manual for these airguns in PDF format, if you wish to have it just PM me. The complete procedure is well detailed with diagrams and parts list .

Removing the stock would be good, so you can flush the compression chamber. Wouldn’t want any 50 year old crud messing with your new seals. And it may make reinstalling the valve components easier.

The 110 makes real good power with only 5-6 pumps!

Thanks for the replies . I made a special tool to remove the chamber nut. That unscrewed easy. So now the other parts should come out ?  That is except the soldered outer air chamber.

That's correct.

What to use for the pump piston cup?

Cut a 5/16'' steel washer in half, sharpen the straight edges into a wedge shape, at about a 30° angle. Put the edges of the washer in between the seal and piston head, making sure they're centered, and force them to lift the seal and brass retainer by tightening this assembly in a bench vise. It'll help if you first remove as much as you can of the old seal with a sharp knife. See my hand drawing, HTH:

Thanks for that. This is a 73 year old gun. Where can you get a new seal? In any case I think the seal isn't bad. Once the nut is out of the gun,how do you get the other parts out?

cup is the same as Crosman 106, 120, 140, 1400, early 760’s and more. Web search may find less $’s

  Thanks guys   I didn't know the pump cups were available. On two of my 760s I had to do the O ring conversion. They both worked well as a replacement for the cups.

 I now have two pump cups.They look like they will fit. This setup is not like the later ones. The part that is inside the rubber cup is  brass and is solid. There is no sleeve to remove to replace the cup. It is threaded on the rod and you unscrew  it. I will attempt the replacement soon. I hope that this will do it.
