Since moving to CA and having no tools or access I have to be creative. Well gave a try to an idea that worked like a charm. Bought a 2240 power adjuster from fleabay and all that was needed to make it work was drill and tap the existing mounting holes to 10/32 plus one hole in the top of the receiver. Everything lined up perfectly. The only thing I may change is use a socket head in the receiver t he rest couldn't be happier. Oh ya one more thing. The actual adjustment bolt was an eighth inch or so short. Really didn't want it cut a longer one so I added a couple spacers. Lol pennies fit the tube like they were made for it!
sorry that one is upside down!!!!!

Hey Pburstrom,
Good work
Maybe I'm being naive, but is this Crosman's (no tools needed) version of a Rear Velocity Adjuster (RVA)?
If yes, then this is the alternative to drilling the OEM air cylinder (plug) end for a 10-32 bolt for .75 cents -> right?
Just trying to put this in perspective.............. Kirk

The problem with having a centered RVA screw in a QB has always been the through-bolt that attaches the breech to the trigger group.... You can get around that two ways.... drill and tap the stock rear plug for a screw off-center.... or drill and tap an RVA plug for separate screws top and bottom.... This uses the second solution, but in this case an aftermarket (Crosman) RVA is used.... No reason it won't work just fine....

Not a big fan of the off center bolt but like the man said it works. The top screw I think I will replace with the socket head and just slightly longer. Be able to lock in adjustments with out the need for an additional set screw? And without the drill press and vice it would be much more of a chore. The aluminum piece cuts easy enough I could hold it in my hands.

The QB 78 loads the spring on the forward stroke of the bolt. How does the adjustment screw add preload to the spring? I must be missing something.
