I'm not offended and I take pride in being a fanatical Sheridan purist. I have to control myself so I don't keep buying more of them. I'm down to only two, but I've had as many as four. The peep is definitely the way to go. Check back if you want to know how to rear sight without doing any damage. There are also options for aperture sizes and some adjustable ones.

Any light spring will work, and the washer is probably an m4 or m5.Oh. Okay. When you say washer, are talking about one with a hole through the middle or one that is solid? Any creative ideas where to get the spring from? The local Ace or True Value stores in my area have assorted fasteners and springs. I have seen posts where other GTA members have bought spring assortments from McMaster Carr and the like. Sorry I don't have more specific info.

The ones on the right (as looking down the gun) are for the peep sight. The one on the left (with the cover) hold that cover and a cam slide adjustment for the bolt.
I just put a bug buster scope and an air venturi intermount on my 397 tonight. Its a little different of a gun but I'm throwing it out there to give you another option.
What about a scope? I have a 3X9X35 rifle scope on hand. Can I use it, or do have to get one design for air guns like I would uses on a springer? I know that this gun does not have the recoil of the springer, but all that violent pumping action as the forearm slaps against the barrel concerns me that it would effect a regular scope. [/equote]Try not to slap the forearm hard. Do it easy as you can.
