Comparing RAW HM1000X .30 Caliber & FX Boss .30 Caliber

Hello All,
Not sure if I'm in the right GTA forum, so Moderators move if necessary, I apologize in advance!
Just looking for opinions and suggestions . . . for hunting small game, primarily raccoons and skunks, and fox, have been trying to decide between the RAW HM1000X .30 caliber and the FX Boss .30 caliber . . . your thoughts please. The FX Boss is regulated and I believe the RAW is too . . . shooting under 100 yards and looking for most accuracy.
Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure of your time frame or the release date, but you may want to check out the American Air Arms sport carbine in 30 cal. If it's accuracy is anything like the Slayer, you won't be disappointed.

I have an HM1000x in .22........Talked to Martin before ordering and set WHAT I WANTED as best accuracy at 100 yds he could build, and he suggested the barrel i SHOULD have .......Was custom build and waited 16 weeks for it. It is made in the U.S. and important for me living here. Only pellet gun i own and with the quality of the build and accuracy, I would choose RAW any day over the FX. It is regulated as asked for that...........My opinion only but can't go wrong with RAW.......I am sure the FX is nice but this was my choice....Carl

I was personally VERY much considering the Boss for my first .30 till I started hearing about the RAW HM1000x was a great option to consider. After talking to Martin at Rapid Air Weapons here in Tennessee and some sellers and owners of the beauties I did decide to go with RAW over the Boss for my long range .30 and I will tell you what my reasons are if it's helps you at all.
#1 I think it is awesome that these are made by a very small company (I think just husband and wife maybe for now, both from the UK) here in my home state of Tennessee USA.
#2 It is clear that these are very similar in performance at the ranges I plan to shoot.
#3 Both are high power and regulated with the RAW having a bit more energy than the FX and nearly the same shot count.
#4 James Ramsey won the 100 yard Extreme Benchrest 2015 this month with a RAW HM1000x in .30 caliber in the Sportsman class.
#5 Martin at RAW was very cheeky when I asked him who made his carbon fiber wrapped barrels for the .30 caliber rifles after he said there were made in the US also. Hummm, secret manufacture source for the barrel? Plus I figured the 'Smooth Twist' barrel was pretty well established in the air gun community now so I thought it would be neat to have something different. Not Lothar Walther or Smooth Twist.
#6 Have you SEEN that beautiful red laminate thumbhole stock with the adjustable cheekpiece?!
The sixth reason is way more subjective and personal than the other points but this was what I was considering. Also instead of getting one in stock at Wild West (thank you for the help Matt Dawson!) I did a custom order with RAW direct due to stock design preference. I did get my new Ernest Rowe tuned Cricket rifle from Wild West and my new 4500 psi fiber fill bottle and recommend anyone looking at these brands give Matt Dawson a call there, he is great and very helpful.
That was my six main reasons for the move to RAW for this guy and I will of course post pics and data when she arrives right before Christmas according to Martin's current build schedule at RAW. Honestly you can not go wrong with either rifle and they are about the same price also. You could always flip a coin?

Both guns designed by past workers from Rapid in UK. Both very accurate. The smooth twist is stellar accuracy out to 75 yd. and a little beyond. That is where the R.A.W. really starts to shine!
The RAW is basically a Custom, or "Bench Made Gun". More attention to detail, and a very good value.

I just picked one up 2 weeks ago . As for accuracy here is a link to my first outing with it at 100 yds ( keep in mind I'm fairly new to air gun marksmanship)

Have never owned a FX so I can't compare but the HMX is a keeper. I agree that Martin is good to work with and puts out an excellent product. He has always replied to my emails and phone calls.

i have had a cpl of RAW TM1000's for some time and recently added the new barrel they are offering and the gun is now one heck of a tack driver
have ordered a 2nd barrel for my other RAW
have an FX 400 and an FX Elite both regulated and are very nice guns
BUT
i shoot Benchrest and the FX's just do not hold their own against the RAW's for accuracy
and i have gone thru several barrels in them
and as per all the previous above reasons i think you should consider the RAW
good luck on what ever your decision

Nothing wrong with the Raw. Easy to work on and all I have are shooters.
But I still enjoy my FLEX. More power than the Raw. Accuracy is on the same level. Raw is regulated and the Flex is not. But Travis's valve is hard to beat shooting like regulated gun. ALSO THAT Timney trigger rocks.
Just 2 different gun platforms and designs in the RAW vs the FLEX.💀
Congrates!!
