well,  late on my update, but better late than never I guess.

My buddies and I went out last weekend and did a little pesting. Jeff has a Franken-gun just like mine pictured here.
 (we built 3 of them so far, and I have a 4th in the works)

 Anyway, they are absolutely blowing us away and have gone beyond our expectations.
mine and Jeff's are basically identical, other than his is already wearing the Prod trigger group, and is shooting about 25-30 FPS faster than mine due to a little more porting on his gun.
 My Prod trigger group is on it's way, and should be here next week.

currently, mine is pushing H&N Barracuda Match 21.3gr, 5.53 heads at 792 FPS, holding MOSH sized grouping, out to 100yds.
my main problem right now is the horrible stock 22XX trigger.

Jeff on the other hand, took out a squirrel last Sunday, at 104yds, pushing a CPHP ! Can you believe that ? ! ?
 both D-rig and myself were sitting there watching as he did it !

 Holy cow ! He blooded the Franken-Reaper at 100+ yds, pushing a "Wallyworld special",sitting in a chair and resting on a Bog-Pod ... how cool is that ?

how is the balance?  I always thought that a  rear mounted tank like yours would be preferable to the front mounted or underslung.

 Guess I gotta start digging thru some threads to find out the details of mounting a P-rod trigger group to a 22XX tube.
 IIRC,... there is some shimming and/or trimming that needs to take place.
 
As the morphing continues,... alive and well !       

I seem to remember reading somewhere, that this hobby can get rather addictive, and consuming.
 Who was the nutcase that made that statement anyway ?  He doesn't know what he was talking about.

Well I pulled the gun back apart, did the JBWeld/putty trick to the hammer notch, and installed the Prod trigger group.
Works GREAT ! and MAN! ! ! it is SOooooo much nicer to shoot.
 (Glad I ordered 2 of them, because I have another Franken-Lego-Rodent-Reaper-Gun build currently in progress).

BUT ,... Now this creates ANOTHER Problem !     

I also have a hopped-up 2289 pumper carbine, and 1322 pistol.
 How in the world am I going to be happy with those still having the sloppy 13XX trigger groups in them !       

I think that I can reasonably blame this all on the GTA, and therefore the GTA needs to step up and make this right. So I'll be expecting the next 2 prod trigger groups to be provided by the GTA, and it should also be reasonable to expect an extra one, just in case I need to upgrade a possible 'NUTHER One in the future !

Thanks for the compliment. This gun is still a work in progress with more good things coming soon.
The scope is OK, but certainly not "top of the line". It is a CP 4-16X44 side focus. I beleivebthey were recently discontinued by CP. I got it on clearance from wallyword (I think) about 4(?) Months ago.

I've got a couple of the as2250 one running std valving and side port and another that runs a disco valve rear and the front is a custom that adds to the plenum and forms the main tube
I've also a couple of 2250 based ones similar to yours that are still in progress and are on my to finish list

It's been a true  continual "morphing" and a fun exercise in just how far can you push the performance with these little guns.
 my buddy and I are never satisfied with good results  . Once we see it working good, it seems we are immediately compelled to take it back apart and twweeeek it some more, LOL!

 We are currently gathering and cobbleing the parts to build the next one.
 Setting the bar pretty high on the next build, with the hopeful goal of taking it to .25 cal and 50ish (?) FPE.
 We probably wont be able to get it quite there, but it is fun trying.

VERY nice looking. Really like the wood furniture.
 On your AS2250's, do you ever have a problem with leaks at the tube fittings ?
 We had considered trying those at first, but we heard those fittings could be problematic/leaky, and was the main reason these guns were discontinued. Have you ever experienced this ? if so,... what did you do to improve/fix it ?

the kings as we call them are notorious for leaks at the valve connection
what I do is use a bs007 oring at the rear side port to adapter and at the front one use again a bs007 oring between the side port and the steel cup shaped spacer then I fit a tp gasket into the cup between it an the valve which seems to work well as I've don a few this way with no leaks
on the one with the rb's I eliminated this problem at the valve by making the entire front section of the tube out of billet ally which screws onto the valve rear and results in a single oring between the valve tube and the side port plus eliminating the other Achilles heel of the king ,that of very little pre valve air
I've two others that also solve these probs i'll dig them out and takes some photo's and I think I have some build photo's of the custom valved one

Ok,
 So here the next step in my continually morphing project build.

 The current valve in it, is a stock 2240 with the piercing pin cutoff of the poppet, and a simple "high flow" front half, made of delrin on my buddies lathe. (sorry, no pics of that one right now). It was giving us up to 792 FPS on Barracuda Match 21.3 gr through an 18" CCS barrel.

 On this next build, We are going to start focusing a bit more on just how far can we tweek the original 2240 valve with some basic machining and parts swapping.

 Here is a crude sketch with measurements on the rear half of the valve.
 In this sketch, the (green) poppet is a factory Disco poppet, and the (blue) transfer port is a piece of ice maker tubing. 




I have an engineering friend who is looking over this sketch and is going to do some hydro dynamic number crunching for me.
The objective obviously being to gain maximum flow/pressure... within a reasonably level of efficiency.
 Maybe some of the more "mathematical  members" here could do the same (?) ,and offer up their suggestions (?)

Here are a few pics of the valve in it's current state.
It is wearing our aluminum "Full Flow" front half with the unaltered Disco poppet, a lighter conical spring, and the original 6/32 mounting screw has been drilled and tapped to a 8/32. upon first assembly into the 2260 tube, we will add 2 more 8/32 screws where marked in red

 The Disco poppet is unaltered in this pic and is full size O.D. (.429)
 This gives a .043 clearance to the I.D. (.515) of the valve body.
 We will eventually be machining the O.D. of the poppet down , and we may also take a few thousandths off of the valve body I.D.




I used a red sharpie pen to color the sealing surface on the inside of the valve body, and assembled the valve to get this witness mark.
 this will help to determine how much of the poppet O.D. can be removed, as well as help determine how far the valve port can be opened up and still provide a positive seal.






Once the numbers are crunched, we should then be able to determine how far we can open up the valve transfer port, and barrel port.
 If that exceeds the I.D. of the ice maker tubing, we may need to turn a seal out of delrin for a custom TP seal.
 I also remember reading some of Rsterne's past posts about slotting the barrel port so that the pellets do not snag on too large of a hole as they are loaded into the breech. Guess I'll have to go do a little digging to see if I can find those old posts... or maybe I'll get lucky, and he'll weigh-in here with some of his fine knowledge and experience.

Anyone with experience on this, I'll greatly appreciate your input and thoughts.
