Is a $100 dollar rifle worth a $30 trigger?

Now that will bring you a lot of different opinions.
There is no finer trigger then the CTD triggers and many complain about the trigger on $100 guns.
Ya kind of got what you paid for at $100 right?

You have the option to get a better gun or throw money at that $100 gun.
Now the right stuff and a little work can make a $100 gun a fantastic shooter for what you have in it.
It will never be up there with the High end guns but will be better then stock.

There's a feeling of doing a good job when we can make a so so gun a nice little gun.
It may not be worth the cost to some but to many of us?
It's part of the thrill.

I just found this thread and have been trying to reach Cathy but have had no reply.
I even tried another email account I have today.
Is she a member of this board? I have an aversion to sending someone money when I cannot contact them....

I bought a trigger about 2 months ago through the web site with no problems. I understand your concern and the web site is a bit strange, but I did what they asked and the trigger arrived like they said it would. No problems.

...
Is a $100 dollar rifle worth a $30 trigger?

What's it worth without it? I'd agree you shouldn't have to replace the trigger, but your $130 rifle is going to be more than $30 better than what you started with.

Same thing for me!

Just beating the bushes, seeing if everything at CDT Trigger is ok and they're still up and running? It appears they are, so I'll sit tight another week and see what happens.

I followed the instructions on the website and then sent a cash payment several weeks ago. Then a follow up email a couple of days ago just to confirm the payment had been recieved? No reply, yet.

Anyway, I'll give to the end of the week, then try something else.......

I think DeZ mentioned that Cathy will be adding Paypal to the website. If she does, it should speed things up quite a bit. If not, they are well worth the wait.

Just sent Cathy a message and advised her to bookmark this thread. And there may be some email traffic issues. We should hear back from her shortly.
Updating the website is something she wants to do but the cost is roughly $600. But I'm sure she will be doing it soon. It will boost her business QUITE a bit IMHO.

Dave

Thanks, recieved the triggers today.

Yeah, she's right! The email I thought I sent last week, somehow got hung up in the "outbox". I didn't notice it until a couple of days ago, before resending it again. So, by the time she recieved it, she had probably already shipped the triggers.

Thanks again for your help.

I believe it's the CBR trigger. Someone will correct me if that's wrong.

installed a cdt trigger in my trail n/p rifle 3-4 yrs. ago and worked great (about 1/2 in. take up and nice crisp break). got it out the other day and zero take up and much heavier pull.what happened?, what to do?. any suggestions/ideas would be appreciated. btw, I didn't change any adjustments, just got it out of the case and started shooting it.

It's possible the lube used has thickened up or dried after sitting 3-4 years. Especially if it's exposed to high humidity or cold temps.
Just a guess, but might be worth looking into before digging in too deep.

I know it's an old question, is a $100 rifle worth a $30 trigger, but here goes.

$60 Pawn shop Crosman Storm in a $40 Benjamin TH stock with CDT trigger.
$30   "        "         "            "     with a CDT trigger.
$60   "        "     Gamo Shadow  with a  CDT trigger
Silent Cat I got new a few years before  with a CDT trigger.
My Swarm that's a single shot springer now with a CDT trigger.
A refurb TF59 I got from PA a few months ago with a CDT.

Plus I paid my shooting buddy Ole Tom Cat to install them all. Three of them I bought from Cathy at the KY. fun shoot last year and Al also installed them there.

Worth every penny! All of'em are keepers.

I thought I'd add to this thread, as I think it is important that people know.

The CDT-4G will fit the Gamo Coyote and BSA Buccaneer rifles.

I put one in my rifle last week.  It requires disassembly of the rifle but the trigger will fit.  Also, you will need a 5/32x7/16 (or 3/8ths) dowel pin because the trigger pivot pin is molded into the coyote trigger and the CDT is not supplied with one.

I opted to make mine a single stage trigger that breaks at about 1 lb by not replacing the screw that is seated within the stock trigger when installing the CDT.
