I will have to agree with Rsterne as no two hipacs are created equal so if in doubt measure twice to be safe but I myself will not use any ever made again regardless if the issue has been addressed or not since the one Lloyd showed that broke under slight side loads by him on his lathe was mine and had I known the thin area under the o ring I would have never paid the money I did for them and is why I had custom tubes made that I can feel safe using myself and for my grandkids to use as well.Buyer beware is all I can say.Mike
I just went out and measured one of mine that has an extension. One groove is .035" wall thickness and the other is .0285". It does appear that if done properly, a steel sleeve could be epoxied on the inside to equal the proper thickness or a bit better, and you wouldn't loose that much air. Regards, Tom
How about returning them to the manufacturer for a replacement that is within tolerance?.... or did you try that and he refused?....Bob
Apparently my machinist drilled a lot of them (extensions?) with a bigger bore than the design which thinned the o-ring channel. As you read you'll hear what you hear, so for comfort sake here it is. The o-ring channel OD 0.672". ID is 0.578" for a grand difference of 0.094" or .047 wall thickness, which ain't a problem, as the AG gods profess their expertise in all things AG related. Funny that nobody"s asked to return them. Go figure.
