Ordered a new scope.  Bushnell Engage 4-16x44.  Sure hopes it’s as clear as others say it is.  It’s slated for the Wildcat but we shall see when it gets here....

Based on a few YouTube reviews I've discovered that the Paper shooters are actually kind of lame to say the least.
It takes a long time to craft the paper exoskeleton which doesn't hold up very long, and they apparently the function is kind of finicky.

Definitely makes me glad it's only costing me $7, and I won't even bother with all that food and glue nonsense.
I'll just assemble the core " blaster " into what is essentially an AR pistol and see what can do, who knows maybe it'll be good for scaring away any annoying pesky birds that I can't legally dispatch

PA emailed me a coupon code to get one of those paper shooters build it yourself spitball guns for just the cost of shipping.

For a while they were advertising them pretty heavily and they were even featured on American airgunner, basically you assemble the gun with all it's working components into the plastic receiver then build up all the cosmetic details out of these fold and glue paper sheets.
I went for it but soon learned that they're really only worth buying if the hours of assembly time for all the paper components will be fun for you.

So yeah it's a toy, but it is technically a springer and was featured on American airgunner 
My plan is to just assemble the functioning blaster and leave it at that.

My take is that’s it more for the project than the shooting.  I added 3 to my cart but they only give you one for the cost of shipping.  I was getting them for my 3 youngest boys to build and destroy but since it’s only one that is “free” I deleted all of them from my cart.  PA can keep them on their shelves.  It should keep you occupied for a few minutes David and it could even turn out to be entertaining.  Invite a couple friends over for snacks and a friendly shooting competition until the gun no longer operates and enjoy it for what it is.  $7.00 is turning out to be “cheap” in today’s economy.  I wish PA was offering more than just one for the shipping.  I think my boys and myself could have enjoyed them.  I had just ordered from PA a couple days before this coupon came out.  If it was available when I ordered I would have at least one coming my way.  I may still take them up on their offer......  let’s us know what you think once you get it and try it out.  I’m am curious.

Today my new scope delivered and I received a bb pistol from a friend.  I really like the scope and the pistol.  The pistol feels great, east to operate and shoots hard.  The scope is very sharp with a thin reticle.

Picked up a BOG DeathGrip Tripod rest for rat sniping in the backyard!  It should be much more stable than the rickety camera tripod with a yoke I’m currently using. Rats beware!

The seals were all good. I haven't shot paper with it yet but I can hit cans every time. I have tried it out to 39 yards with open sights. My near vision seems to be getting a little less clear lately, if it gets worse I may have to get prescription glasses for reading. My eyes have always been the same since lasic surgery 15-20?? years ago so store bought reading glasses have been all I have needed, but now I think I would benefit from a prescription for each eye. As far as air-gunning I am a lot better off with a scope. I have still been able to make it work but my eyes seem strained sometimes.

my new to me left handed Daystate Regal XL came today!  i purchased it from precision airguns in michigan and Jim was knowledgeable and very easy to deal with.  he even gave me a great deal on shipping!  their site described it as having "minor" dings in the wood.  minor?  they're almost non existent!  i really had to look hard to see them.


Thanks Jim for your help and honesty, and to all the enablers for recognizing this has been my dream gun since i shot one in kentucky at the fun shoot a couple of years ago.
