My .25 Gauntlet came in, the tank was empty so I just pumped it up to 3000 and will let it sit over night to make sure it doesn't leak, then I'm gonna tear it apart and modify it, rain finally stopped so I can jump on the lathe and make the stock adapter.

I need to do that for my DAR. I want to get a pistol grip and collapsible stock for it.  Is that your plan as well?

Received my Burris Xtreme Tactical low rings yesterday. Not disappointed in the rings. My scope won’t zero though. Going to send in the scope for warranty.

Bummer. Well I took my best scope off a different rifle,put it on the avenger and new rings. Torqued it down to spec and the parallax is hard to rotate and gets stuck at 80 yards. Loosened the front rings a bit and now it rotates but I can still feel where it wants to get stuck.

I received my pellet order from Straight Shooters today. This was my first time to order from them. I hadn't heard anything positive or negative concerning their packing so I expected to have halfway decent packing.

Well boy was I disappointed.  Maybe a tad better than Amazon but not much. Pellet tins were place on a nice bed of packing paper but nothing,  NOTHING separating the 4 tins. A nice layer of packing paper was placed on top of the tins. When I picked up the box I noticed immediately that all the weight was at one end of the carton.  Upon opening I found one tin dented enough to dent some of the skirts.

I sent a message to Straight Shooters customer service but I haven't received anything back. When I pay $16 for a tin I expect better packing.

This was technically on Monday, but I received a new HW98 in .22 with a boatload of pellets to go with it. I had ordered it from Krale...on FRIDAY! Everything was packaged very nicely and shooting very sweat out the box. Frankly blown away by the delivery time. Also, this gun is a big step up from the Diana 24 i've been shooting faithfull since I was 13.

Craig at Straight Shooters responded to my email. He thanked me for my description of the damage and hopefully he'll heed my suggestions to prevent this from happening again.  He is sending a replacement tin to replace my damaged ones.

Here it is mid week, and for the first time thought about the new 4-16x40AO scope I picked up over the weekend. It was in the perfect place, at the perfect time, to be perfect on my ATI Liberty.

Received some tins of H&N field target domed .177 today for my Diana 34. But the boneheads at the Amazon fulfillment center just tossed them all into the same mailer envelope without any packing, and they arrived completely dinged and dented to heck and back. Thinking of returning for replacements...erg

Ended up ordering replacements for those pellets from Amazon that arrived all dinged up. Held onto the first set so I could cherry pick the best of the bunch in case the replacements arrived in the same sorry state. Low and behold, they did. Actually even more bashed the second time around.

Got on the horn with a customer rep today to try to sort out the situation and was offered a refund along with being allowed to keep the damaged items, both the original and replacements, four tins in total. Guess the next few weekends' worth of plinking is on the house, courtesy of Mr. Bezos.

Still wouldn't recommend buying pellets from Amazon, but I'll give them top marks for their customer service on this one.

Im new here, but it seems like i am not the only one who has had crappy experience ordering pellets from amazon. I ordered a tin of JSB exact express and received a tin of exact beasts. I figured I would try them out, the first shot out of my Diana 24 (my only working gun at the time) made the strangest sound; like air being squeezed out of a balloon. I soon realized the pellet was lodged halfway down the barrel.

I have been hemming and hawing over a scope to replace my Monstrom 3x9, I ended up with a Discovery VT-Z 6-24X50mm FFP. I am hoping it will give me a little wider field of view and more eye relief.

I think Bill got one last year for his DAR so in a way, I am copying him a bit, mostly due to the interesting AO wheel that will allow the mag to be inserted while the wheel is still attached as well as the magnification.

5000 Merlin Match pellets from CMP. That ought to keep the basement range going for a little while. At roughly 8 gr they should be usable in every 177 I own, except maybe my my Hw95 and 97. Those guns will likely push them over 900. The 95 probably way over 900 so I don't know if they'll get squirlly at those speeds. Speaking of squirrels they're wadcutters so they'll be good for pests as well as paper. At $81.50 after shipping, its $8.15 a tin delivered I consider it a windfall these days. That's if they're any good. Wish me luck.

I know, it's amazing how far the critters will go.
The little plastic tags tethered with 4" of cord gives like a propeller or parachute effect and besides making them easy to find retards their flight. Shooting them at 35 yards and at 45 yards with my .177 R9 and D460 .22 the energy has dropped at those distances so they don't fly as far. With the little 1"x2" tags attached at 45 yards they only go at the most a couple of yards .
