Don't get me wrong, I love my Mrod.
But it it was it is.
It is a great lowcost PCP air rifle.
What is the purpose in buying a 500 dollar stock
Or spending a fortune making it look tactical.
Tactical? common, it has a range of 50 yards
Why do we need Weaver mounts or adapters on a recoiless air gun?
No matter what is bought or spent, its still a $450 Marauder in the end.
Its never going to be a $1500 FT gun.
Its never going to be a AAS510, or a Falcon Prairie.
If you want a nice, accuate $1000 or a $1200 gun with a walnut stock, why not buy it, to start with?
I realize this is a hobby where people spend extra money on toys.
What do you guys think?

Your avatar is scary.
I think it's just like anything else, cars, houses, jobs, relationships.. you start with one thing and you build it into something better. It's just the way of man.
Personaly i can see it, my Mrod is as accurate as any high dollar gun, way past 50 yards, it has a fine trigger and is reliable and quiet. The only gripe i have with them is the stock so i could see putting out some money to round the gun out a bit better. Not $500.00 though.

Thumbs up from me. That's why I don't do PCP. Oh by the way, you forgot the cost of the $2000 air compressor. JMHO.

Some people just like to dress up their toys. Even with a high-end airgun...some owners will make it "Look" different for looks or for better performance. To each their own.

Not everyone wants the same thing that everyone else has.
It would be like if everyone was driving around in a blue car. After a while you are going to want a black mustang, or what not.
Variety is the spice of life my man.

I’m in the boat that buys a gun and shoots it as is. I went threw a spell when I first started into adult air guns to have them tuned and put better triggers in them. Spending more on extras than the gun cost.
I finally realized that it’s cheaper to just to buy guns that didn’t need up grading and tuning. Now I only buy high end PCPs.
I don’t buy as many guns now as I use to, but the ones I got shoot just fine as they are.

I can sum it up in two words:
Ruger 10/22
Same reason guys dump a grand into one of these.

Red, my buddy has close to 2 grand into his 10/22. But it does shoot 10 rnds in a dime at 100 yds. It is like the old saying; If you want to play, you have to pay. Not my cup of tea but hey TEHO.

Everybody likes something different. Same reason guys spend 3 grand on wheels and tires for a $1200 car.... Hey, whatever blows your skirt up, it's your money, captain shiney wheels
There's a local outdoor forum where I live where guys buy and sell powder burners all the time. You'll see a guy with a chinese SKS, with about $500 worth of aftermarket/Tapco "stuff" bolted on it and asking 700 bucks for the thing....I don't care how much crrap you bolt on it, it still a chinese SKS and it's worth 300 bucks tops. I'm ok with customizing stuff, if that's what you like, just don't try to sell it to me for twice what it's worth.

We just had a post from a guy who made a very decent Marauder stock out of a $54 blank with hand tools.
I wouldn't put a lot of money into one- if it's not a good barrel, ask Crosman for another. They can put out a darned good barrel and I have one.
Biggest upgrade I could see is the glass on top of it, especially if it was going to try FT. Other'n that, depingers are cheap if you want 'em, guess you could add a regulator, and there just isn't much more to be done with one.
No objection to anyone adding the walnut furniture, but that's just me. Some folks like to do woodwork and a gun is just a reason to do some. Gene's Disco (that Timmy made) looks like a little Daystate anyway.
