Ed, I'm starting to think if you didn't have bad luck, you'd have no luck at all. The only brands I have sampled and found 0.005" or more variance has been Gamo and Crosman. JSB and H&N are usually only 0.001" to 0.0015".Regardless of the brand, the head size printed on the tin is just a number. If the pellets happen to nominally match that number, I consider it a pleasant coincidence.

I do agree and I wonder if the size on the tin is simply the nominal size of the die being used rather than pellet head size. It also kinda makes me wonder why companies like H&N even put a nominal size on the tins if it means little!
