My 300S has a piston ring in addition to a conventional piston seal. ... When I disassembled my gun the first time the piston ring broke in two. ... I was told that the piston ring has a life of some several thousands pellets but I can't confirm that.
Congratulations! Good to hear you've got it fixed up.Quote from: yellow boy on May 24, 2015, 05:23:28 PMMy 300S has a piston ring in addition to a conventional piston seal. ... I just bought a second 300S and am looking at enlarging the loading aperture to allow for easier pellet loading. Has anyone done this? I am taking it to a machine shop tomorrow to see if they can mill or grind the outboard wall (ON THE SAME SIDE AS THE COCKING LEVER) of the loading gate. My RWS 54 has this configuration and it is much easier to load with a scope in place.interested to hear any thoughts.yb
