Is the log on proceedure that I just went through

Since the first time you log in, it will take you back(you'll have to enter in your pass. twice), what you do is enter the name, and just put one character in the "password blank" and after you line up the sliders, log in, it will take you back to renter the pass, then you enter in your pass.

This is for the people who have long passwords who hate to type them out twice.

sorry guys... all it did was keeping me more in that "other site"... my pc needed some severe adjusting and cookie modification to get in... (8 hours and countless tries). Not fun. I guess that from now i'll log in just when necessary, and not for fun as it used to be. hacking an airgun site... what are you going to get... my email???

Gabe, it could be far worse than just that.
Imagine someone claiming to be someone he was not on one of the Classified Gates, first locking out the real seller by switching the password on him, then getting someone to send money or airguns to his own fake address.
It could get real ugly, a lot of people could lose big money, and it would really throw GTA into chaos.
Even worse, imagine if they cracked one of the admin passwords.
They could get personal information...full names, addresses, etc.
Not to mention that a lot of people use the same password on different sites, opening the door to bank account draining and untold other criminal activity.
Alarmist?

Sorry to hear this Gabe but the login process isn't that rough and definitely will not cause THAT much problem. There must be some other reason that took 8 hours of computer maintenance to get back in. It's simply entering your user/password, drag the sliders to straighten the pictures and hit enter. It fails once and you go back and do the same thing again and you're in.
I NEVER log out but just to see the process myself, I tried it.
And I sent announcement emails to everyone about this new process but it sounds like some folks either didn't get them or didn't read them. And as far as hackers, who KNOWS what motivates them and what they can or want to gain from hacking in. But we cannot sit by and NOT do something to protect members and this forum. It's worth the small hassle, in my opinion.
