Wow Gary that seemed FAST!! I'll bet you can't wait, Reba was telling me about the "boomers" and they sounded like the were all short barreled .58's? Well in any event i'm thrilled for you and look forward to you starting a post on your gun, and to seeing some pics and hearing what you think of it, i'm jealous

Mr.JonnyReb,
The .58 Boomer Carbine has a 14" barrel. I talked to Reba today and she said my Rifle came out great. I cant wait until I
have it. The walnut stock is just beautiful. That is what Reba said to me today on her description of the action with the stock.
I have no doubt that a legend such as Jack Haley would turn out nothing short of an amazing usable Rifle with looks and function. I am looking forward to having maneuverability while carrying this .58 Caliber Carbine and the power such a compact Rifle has to offer. As I am disabled and this Carbine, Hopefully will give me the best of both worlds. Jack and Reba are also giving me some of Bob V. 286 Grain Lead Balls with the Rifle. I will have it by next week for sure. I myself, like Carbines for they are easy to tote around and are not so cumbersome in the woods. Mr JonnyReb next time you call Jack or Reba tell them that Gary Catania would like you to hear about the .58 Caliber Carbine Boomer Jack has just built for me. I like Rifles that are comfortable to carry, And to me one of the most important desideratum is shootability in a Rifle. I am waiting on my .50 Caliber DAQ Bandit now, I knew the Haley would be built in 3+ weeks , However the .50 Caliber Bandit will also be way worth the wait.
Gods Speed,

I'm pretty darned happy for you Gary and all us want to see a "Boomer" i can promise you
Please post pics of it, i have no doubt it's a beauty. Reba said that all she would carry deer hunting is a Boomer, that they were Jacks creation for her and it seems like a 14" barrel was mentioned, she said she had 4 of them
, I love a carbine too, the shorter and lighter the better as i carry it A LOT more than i shoot it if it's a woods gun. Those short barrels come at a price though of reduced velocity and i wonder if you know how many foot pounds it's set up for or any stated velocity? Will you run it over a chrony? I'd love to know what a short gun like that would make, i was waiting till after the airgun show to order one, a buddy will be at the show checking the ones for sale out. I hope to join you in owning one of their guns soon and really look forward to hearing about your experience with yours. Were you going to hunt with it? Jeff

Gary,
Congrats on the new Jack Haley Boomer. He has a well earned reputation and I am sure the .58 will serve you well. Keep those plugs or muffs handy!
Best regards,

Mr.JonnyReb &LLoyd-SS,
Thank you both for positive words on the new .58 Boomer Carbine. Mr.JonnyReb you are correct in that Jack made the
.58 Boomer Carbine ( 14" Barrel ) for Reba so she could have a Powerful yet light and nimbol Rifle for Hunting, And that
is how the Carbine version of the .58 Boomer was originally brought to production. The Carbine .58 Caliber shooting a
433 Grain Conical Bullet will produce a FPE in the 400-450 Range. With a 286 Grain lead Ball it is about 270 FPE or so.
I will be Talking to Reba and Jack so I will confirm correct numbers. I got just what I was looking for in a .58 Carbine,
Powerful and Light to carry. I have been looking at Dan M. long action Ranger .45 (.452 ) with the 36" Barrel and 815 FPE
with a 540 Grain Bob V. Conical Bullet and The Fifty-Eight with a 36" Barrel and 1038 FPE with a 820 Grain Conical Bullet
by Bob V. Wow, Now I really like the Long Action Ranger .452 its got some nice Energy. I will post pictures of the Haley
.58 Boomer Carbine as soon as I have it in my hands. This will be a great compact Hunter for me. Until the next time
gentlemen, Have a great week for what is left of it. I look forward to posting picks soon of the .58 Carbine Boomer.

Here she is : This is in the subject box of the E-Mail Reba / Jack sent with my pictures.
Mr.JonnyReb,
I got pictures of the Haley .58 Boomer Carbine from Reba today. My Final payment will be at Jacks
this Friday by USPS Express Mail. Jack / Reba will ship my .58 Carbine on this Friday afternoon or
Monday if the mail shows up to late for Jack to Ship it out to me. I say I will be shooting her by
the middle to end of next week. I will have 286 Grain Bob V Lead Balls from Jack and I have 433
Grain Conical Hollow point Bullets from Bob V also. Reba said the Rifle looks shorter than it really
is. The sun came out for a few minutes today at Jacks, So Reba said Jack grabbed the .58 and
mounted a Scope so I can see what it looks like and then went outside and took two pictures in
the sun while it was out. Here is my Haley .58 Boomer Carbine in Jacks back yard. I will take my
own Pictures once the .58 is home here in the Mountains of South Carolina only 2 1/2 miles from
North Carolina. Mr JonnyReb , Reba said she talked to you about a Haley Rifle, And to call her back
and that she would work a deal out for you on the Haley Rifle of your choice.

Holy Smokes Gary thats beautiful!
I think i want one of those... perfect lines, gorgeous stock... i sure want to hear how it shoots, it looks like a masterpiece and i'll bet you can't wait to lay your hands on it. Heck i can't wait to lay MY hands on one, truly just the picture on that gun is plenty enough for me to justify the Crosman Rogue in .357 and go big with the Haley, .58 sound big to me
Thank too for saying "hi" to Reba for me, i'll be in touch with her soon, after the AG show is over. Make sure and write about every aspect of your gun and experience with it Gary, guns like your will help to really expose the possibilities of bigbore, who could see one of those and not want to know more about it? Keep em coming Gary,
Jeff

Mr.JonnyReb,
Thank you, It is a really nice .58 Carbine. I cant wait to shoot it, And see how it shoots with different ammo.
Reba got my final Payment today so it will be shipping out to me today, Looks like I will have it a little sooner
than I thought. Now I need to place my order with Bob Vogel for my .50 & .58 Caliber Lead. I am still in shock
that I own a Haley Rifle. I will take notes of how I shoot and with what lead projectile I use and the conditions
at hand, Such as current weather, Etc. I will keep track of every aspect of the .58 Boomer to pass on to others.
Please keep me posted if there ever is a Southern Shoot / Get together for Air Gunners. I think The .357 Rouge
is a Air Rifle that will change the Air Gun industry with its technology it has to offer. I forget that there are big
companies such as Crosman that have R & D in process all the time to make the sport more enjoyable. I also
find the .357 Rouge as a Rifle I would like to own down the line. The computer controlled shots for greater
shots per fill and the three settings for the fps. All of it is amazing features in a Big Bore Air Rifle.

We will definitely put a shoot together for those interested in the Southeast and don't forget about Genes shoot in May, it's in S.C. and there will definitely be Bigbores on site as well as airguns of every caliber, it will be a great shoot.
I think that you'll find a lot of people will be interested in the .58 Haley, there are not many of them around and you'll probably provide the influence for others(me
) to check them out closer. On the other hand Gary, it sounds like you have a couple of possibly equally impressive guns coming, maybe i'd better wait till you check them all out, your gonna be doing a lot of shooting and a lot of writing i hope, you'll be able to give great comparisons between them all.
I'm really looking forward to Rogues release too, seems to me like the perfect suburban coyote gun, J

Hi MM, further into the post you'd see that the seller had a bit of remorse over the deal and i had just spoken with Mrs. Haley about building me a gun, the original deal fell through. The range of prices however,, seems to be from $650-1200.00 for their guns, depending on the level of stock in a lot of cases. The do have less expensive Bigbores than that, these use many parts off a QB rifle so as to save money for those more cost conscious or for those who need a lower powered gun. I would not hesitate to call the Haleys with the number off their website, Mrs Haley will pick right up or call you right back and tell you anything you want to know about their guns.
