Thanks for all of the compliments guys! I had fun working on this one. But....knowing the risks of stripping around that black stippling almost kept me from even attempting this project. The day I started on it I literally had the stock laying on my work bench and just stared at it contemplating just leaving it alone. I actually grabbed my tiny brush and just dry brushed around the stippled areas, practicing brush strokes before going live with the stripper.....knowing that from the first pass of a brush full of stripper there would be no turning back. 20 minutes later I started in on it and never looked back

In addition to shooting them, I enjoy the refinishing work as well. Kind of personalizes my rifles I guess.

Next up....I have a stainless screw set, Mac1 brass cup inserts and an aluminum straight setback trigger from Rowan Engineering on the way

I installed the Mac1 brass cup inserts and stainless screws today. Very simple to install and a nice solid design

Brass Cups in place;

Stainless screws (The kit did not include stainless screws, I picked these up at Ace Hardware);

Between Sharky and I, there'll be plenty of light reflecting. I'll keep my hat on to minimize the reflection.....I've been shaving my head for about 10 years

The hardest part was getting started on this one. I was so apprehensive at first knowing the things that could go wrong. I held off for a couple days, then finally went to the bench and got started. Yes it was a nerve racking project every step of the way
