I was able to gwork out a deal with the owner and get back on, just have to figure out how to keep on the good side. Living in a 14 X 20 building with all your tools and inventory is a bugger. Kind of like what I did in the Navy, a place for everything and everything in it's place. I do have one of the old style Navy hammocks so it's not a problem finding floor space to sleep on, and no problem with the heavy arms moving around like they did when we where at sea....just hope we don't have any "son of a guns"....at my age it still could happen but with so few volunteers it's should be a no problem....thanks guys and keep your pecker up....

Good news.  How far back in the navy do you go?  Still got tar in your hair?  Mend ropes on Sundays?  We didn't have hammocks on the sub.

We slept three high in regular old coffin racks.
Except, unlike with Red, I wasn't on a ship that sank on purpose.

That's exactly right, Old Pink.  We were sitting around drinking with some "skimmer pukes" (surface sailors) when one pipes up "I don't know why you guys get sub or hazardous duty pay.  I mean, our ship could sink, too."  "Well," says I, "It's like this.  Your ship can just sink, but OUR boat has to get back up to the surface just TO sink."  He took a thoughtful pull on his drink, held it a moment, then said, "You know, I never thought of it that way."  Yes, it was h3ll, pure h3ll down there and lots of "Pass the Chateaubriand, please."

I am sure glad I never had to. Not that I wouldn't if I was told but the armed forces life it just not for me.
It was hard enough being an army bratt with a stern British Mother & a Dad that could beat the bageeses out of you with just his thumb... lol
Not to mention ya'al are making me queezy just thinking of being in a sub or ship
