ATTENTION CO2 GUNNERS

The issues/questions I raised in the post below have not been addressed.  I believe they are legitimate concerns and having the answers to those questions may eliminate confusion about where posts should be initially placed.  I would really appreciate it if someone would address these questions.

There are a couple of issues that are not clear to me.  Does this apply only to posts about CO2 guns in this gate or does it apply to all gates?  If one asks about trigger issues on a Crosman 2240, for example, is it automatically moved to the Darkside, even if it is posted in the Airgun gate instead of the American/US Airguns gate?  What if one asks about scope mounting for a QB78 in the European/Asia Airguns gate?  In other words, if the post has nothing to do with the CO2 aspects of a CO2 airgun and is otherwise posted in the appropriate gate, will the post be moved to the Darkside.  If so, I have to say that I think most such posts will not receive as much attention or as many replies as they would have if left in the original gates.

I see your post was mostly answered by Ezman604 after you posted this and as I was reading down the thread before seconding your opinion. I certainly hope there will be moderate moderation because I've noticed what seems like quite a few posts to this Gate getting moved because they were about a Co2 or even PCP gun but were seeking very general Crosman centric info. Questions about trigger groups and barrels come to mind.
 If that's the way it is, that's the way it is and I know mods need to at least scan great number of posts but I hope some discrimination will be made about whether a question about a Co2/PCP relates to the power source or the manufacturer.

They will be moved (if needed) to the gate that the subject is most appropriate for. As deemed by the staff. That's the best answer I can give. We're not perfect and never will be. We do the best we can. And we spend many hours trying to do the job.
And one post is as readable as another in my opinion. The tab above "Show unread posts since last visit" is how everyone SHOULD view the forum. I think it's the best way to see all new posts. And in this way, no post is overlooked simply because of WHERE it's located. Personally, I'd never come here and go straight to ONE gate and only one gate. You would definitely miss a lot if you did.

This pretty much answers my questions.  I wasn't questioning whether or not a given post would be read, but whether a post placed in a forum other than the one in which it was originally posted and one that some (many?) folks might not normally associate with the topic of that post would be as likely to be read as it would have been in the original forum.  I'm not sure about the tab you mention, I have never noticed it.  I do have my account set up so that clicking on the pages in  the box to the left of the forum name, if the pages are highlighted, shows me the new posts in that forum.  That way, I read new posts in only the forums of interest to me and don't have to go through all new posts in GTA (which is how I interpret what you said).

Well, I disagree that this is the best way to read this forum, or most other forums on similar platforms.  There are many subtopics or topic areas (or "gates" or whatever you wish to call them) that simply do not interest me.  Or do not interest me at a given time.  In fact, there's really only 2 or 3 topic areas that I read.  I really don't want to have to scan long lists of posts having nothing to do with my areas of interest, just to try to cull out a few that might.  Just thought I'd offer up that view, in case there is an assumption that this is the way everyone likes to or should do it.
