My Daisy 881

Well last night I finally got it to hold air and stay that way.     So I have two good older Daisy's.


The 881 now shoots nice, though not accurate (0.8 inch C-T-C at 15 yards).

So  have fulfilled my promise to BigTinBoat, that first I would get them both shooting well, then look at modifying them.     Though I think the 881 will always be a second string Rifle.

Don't give up on the 881 yet.  I have five older 880's (same as 881) which have wildly differing tastes in pellets.  A sampler pack from Straight Shooters  helped me find the best pellet for each of them,  Groups ranged from 4" to single hole at 10 yards and I would have guessed wrong on every one as to which pellet was best.  One likes light pellets, one likes heavy pellets, one likes pointed pellets, and one even surprised me by not being picky at all.

I will try more pellets .    This 881 is the first Daisy I have had that might be picky.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity.    I have learned a bit more about these great AirRifles, and that is what it is about, learning.
