2240 safety removal

I am modding a 2240, first one I have done. Looking around  the different forums it seems a lot of guys are removing the safety and plugging the holes.
My question is, does this have any affect on the trigger pull? Also without a safety I guess they place a pellet in the chamber and then cock the gun when ready to fire.

I know of no reason to remove the safety.  Other than perhaps a lack of common sense.
Safety on or off every gun should be treated as loaded. (we all know that)  I can't be sure that I am going to be the only one to shoot my guns.  If my son or grandson wants to shoot I want them to be able to follow the basic "gun safety rules" by engaging the safety.  Just the extra step of putting the safety on & off reminds them that there is a need to follow ALL the rules.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Oh ya, the safety has no effect on the trigger pull weight or smoothness.

i have a crosman pumper , same safety/trigger group at the 22xx guns . i lost my safety ball bearing and didn't have a safety for a while , but i have one now and it's back in . the empty hole kinda bugged me .... but i wasn't really comfortable not having a safety .

the safety has no effect on pull weight or smoothness , it only prevents trigger movement when it's engaged .

Do not remove the safety
If you lose the ball you can use one from a chain like the ones on a pair of nail clippers, works great and the price is right.
If you put a small amuont of grease on the spring and ball they won't fall out and you won't lose them

i had vaseline on mine and still lost it  . i knocked over the bowl i had my parts in and it was lost in the carpet . now i have the free magnetic parts bowl that harbor freight gives away with their free coupon so often  the grease/vaseline does keep it and the spring from popping out .... but it can't fix my clumsiness .

You can go to a RC hobby shop. They sell bearing for differentials. They generally come in 1/8" or 1/16". Apackage should only be a few bucks.

Also the head of a sewing pin, the round head colored ones works. i've read alot of mod threads and don't recall anyone removing their safety. Really no reason to do that, tk

Thanks for all of your replies. I do like the idea of a safety on air guns. I will up grade to a brass safety just for the bling, lol
I had seen some you tube vids and post at other forums about removing the safety. I could not think of a good reason, so I asked you air gun gurus.
