On some forums this reply would be considered a necro. I am new to this forum so please forgive me but it must be said that I am truly inspired. I joined this forum and began reviewing all I can to find for me the perfect air rifle. Now I must bring to task an even greater challenge. To build the perfect air rifle. (perfect for me anyways) This brings many more questions to mind but it does answer an old one. What to do with the chunk of bloodwood that's been sitting on a bench in my grandpas shop for 3 years.

After that fantastic effort, I would have used Walnut................but more costly and harder to work with.

Some times for no reason you work with what you have...
Example,i had and still have a slavia 630 mod77 that was bought new back at 1983.
Kids wanted to shoot with her so the stock became a little shorter...
