Anyone have their side bolt gun smithed to smooth it out

Hey guys,

Last year when I fell into adult air guns, the BT65 Elite caught my eye.  Thankfully I bought an AT44W-10 in .22.  first. I think if I would have bought the BT65 first, that would have been then end of me collecting Hatsans,.

It looks good, it shoots hard, long and straight. It has more features and adjustments then most any long gun for up to twice the price. However,  mine is just not fun to shoot, I thought about selling it because it is such a bugger to work the action.

Even after slivering silicone all over, under, around and through the bolt, it doest'n even move with me grabbing on it and standing on it with my foot .Well, almost, lol.

So my question,  is that normal,  or do they need to be taken to a gun smith who can smooth that bolt out to make me want to shoot it.

It has 500 rounds thru it.

Sounds like somethings binding. If the gun is less than 1 year old, it should be under warranty.
Contact Rick Eutsler, he should be able to help.  This should be a basic fix.

Thanks buddy,
The Hatsan repair guy who just fixed my Galation, pretty much told me, that was the nature of the beast.  So I bought it as a refurb and it was all new from Hatsan excrpt the stock.
I can see wear marks along the bolt. Like it needed to come out and be turned down in the right places.


I am just hoping if I invested in smithing thst it would fix it?

There seems to be a relationship between the trigger travel & the force needed to pull the bolt to cocking position.
After some fiddling I realized, the more travel the easier it was to cock. By the time I got done tweaking the adjustment cocking became a good bit easier. Still not AT or Galatian easy, but definitely an improvement over what it was.

my BT65 Was allso hard as and with my wrists i had 2 sell it and keep the Gal 4

 the bt65 should allways be hard because you have no leverage your pulling it straight back


thats just my thoughts anyway

i also noticed some friction on the rear of the bolt that pops out when pulled back. Lubing & sanding some clearance should help too.
