Scope failure!

I can hardly believe this.
I've got a Hawke Sidewinder 4-16x50 under three months old (actually I've got two of them on two guns). Today, I went to move the mag. ring up from 4x (was shooting over the chrony), and it stuck a bit. I had to use abnormal pressure to move it up to 12x (obviously quite a red flag). When I look through the scope, after also setting the parallax to 50 yards, my target (at 50 yards) is nothing but a blur - I mean it was like a paint smudge. Long story short, it focuses - sort of - if I have the parallax up near infinity, but only up to a certain power.
When I move the power ring, the focus also changes - it's like they're now coupled.
Am I right that the scope is dead? Should I call Pyramyd and return it?

BTW, I had the scope on a gas-ram gun for a bit (a Beeman RX-2), then on my new BSA R10. (Pyramyd, who sold me the RX-2 and the scope, recommended the scope for this gun.)

If you've had the scope over thirty days they'll have you contact Hawke, who will cover it under warranty.

That's understandable, but, well, stinks for me. I'd guess I'll be out a scope for a good many weeks.
I've never had a scope fail before in my life. I've been a shooter off & on for 30 years.

That not worthy!
But that RX2 is a well known scope killer. Did you have the Dampa mount on? I'd only trust smaller objective scopes on magnum springers. Wouldn't dare put my Side Winder 6-24x56mm on a magnum springer. But that's just me.
Hawke is well known for a great warranty and should take care of the problem.

I had a nice 6-point mount that was recommended here.. forgot the brand. I took it off the Beeman a week ago and had it on the BSA. Delayed failure?? It sure was never dropped or abused in any way.
Since Pyramyd sold me the scope and RECOMMENDED it for the Beeman I actually think they ought to replace it for me. I'm going to try them first.

Had a Hawke Eclipse 6-24x50 go bad recently. I called Hawke, and was given a return number. Sent the scope back on a 2 day delivery. One week after they received the scope I received the replacement. The Eclipse is out of production, so they sent the Endurance. Nice surprise, nice scope, Better scope then the Eclipse. Great service from Hawke.

I returned one of the little 4X's and turnaround was fast. Easy company to deal with. I communicated with Jes Reeve and he was very helpful and responded to all my queries.
