Re-crowning?

Anyone have any before and after pictorials to show just much it improves accuracy?  Or if no pictorials, can you just relate any experiences on how you did it, how effective it was and how much did it actually improve the gun?

Actually I have never really compared the two but have re-crowned barrels for myself and customers.  I use the Dave Manson professional crowning tools to re-crown barrels.  Just call me over cautious but using a brass screw and such is not my idea of a proper and professional way to do it.  But that is me alone.  I know his tools are very expensive but I would never feel right performing this task with a customers pride and joy with a 10 cent brass screw!

You may find a better hit on this in the Yellow Forum.  Just a thought.

I guess I should one day do a comparison but with customers guns I re-crown due to a obvious off center crown or one that has rough edges that do not pass the cotton swab test.

Here's some before & after picks of my at44 long qe. Had an 11* target crown done by a local gun Smith for $50. It tightened things up a lot. Both are 10 shot groups at 30yrds.

I know this is an old topic, but it is certainly still relevant. I was wondering if, since PCPs have barrels of softer steel than powder burners, is there any chance of hurting the rifling by using the tool's expandable pilot?
