Hello. I'll have to send a private message for the specifics, but I'm going to try to make it to the shoot at least one day. My son lives in Summerville so that'll give me an excuse. I live about 80 miles away in Olar, SC. I'm glad to see you guys getting something together for airgunners here in the low country. I'll be glad to help any way I can. I have 10 meter guns, plinkers, and hunting guns, but don't have a real serious field target rig. I could probably knock over a silhouette if I tried real hard.

However i have a ton of stuff going on trying to get my Daughter all ready for her first year of college at Winthrop!!! lots of school supply shopping to do.. and i have a previously scheduled bike ride for Saturday morning... AND on top of all that its "Date Weekend"  Wife is supposed to take me to a Movie AND a Meal!!!  yeah I tried to tell her that we could do the DATE out shooting exploding plastic water bottles!! but shooting outside in August is not her idea of fun...  seriously somebody needs to do one of these Carolina shoots in the Fall/Winter... i mean this is SOUTH Carolina we got pretty mild winters!! lol   Just saying...... :P

Hope you can make it. :D

As mentioned before, this started off as just me and Al getting together to do some shooting on on his private property.

We then decided that we would ask any other GTA Members that would like to join to do so.

The name of it started off as a joke from Jeff R. off Trenier Outdoor Products, because it just so happens that Al and I have the same name, hence the name of the event being "Als' Lowcountry Fun-Shoot".

Al has already mentioned that we put on another one to me when it is cooler, like late September, mid October, as we agree with you about the heat.

If yall don't make this one, hopefully the next one!

Respectfully,

Al.

Wow Al n Al....this really took off...

175 yards? at a school bus?...pffff....4 shots with OTC's BT-65 and you'll be able to pick which letter in the school name you're gonna hit next..

when I had that air rifle, I was  hitting 2" pieces of broken shotgun pigeons at 100 yards....with authority too!
so a 6x8 75 yards farther down range is feasible...

Yep, more Air-Gunners coming than I thought, pretty awesome! ;D More airguns to check out and hopefully hold and shoot!

Will be lots of fun!

I look forward to shooting the BIG NASTY!

Thanks,

Al.

p.s. I have evrything packed-up and by the door ready to go!:) Hoping you and Al can help to get my QB-78 Deluxe HPA to seal when trying to fill it with air! I have only had the HPP to do it with, so hoping a scuba tank type or whatever it is yall have will make it happen/seal! Should I bring my HPP you think? Thanks again!

It was a great day for shooting.

No Rain, cloudy and fairly cool for SC in August....

I didn't get any other pictures so if you other guys took some send them to me or post them up.....

Today was a true BLESSING! :D

I have learned an exorbitant amount of information related to Air-Gunning the past 1.5-days and was able to see and shoot products that I had often wondered about many times in the past!

When I get home, I will post more pictures and write more about today's shoot!

Here's one thing I can tell you I learned: I CANNOT SHOOT A SPRINGER! :-\ I did pretty good with the low in power QB-57, but the more powerful Springers...I would like to forget about!

Al was kind enough to take the time to give me some pointers and good advice! :D

I now know more than ever that shooting a Springer or Break-Barrel takes discipline, practice and lots of patience!

More to come!

Cheers,

AGW.

I had a great time at the shoot yesterday! Weather was great and the company was even better. I want to publicly thank both Als for opening up the shoot the rest of the airgun community. That was wonderful. I think all of us learned a lot about some airguns we'd never shot before and I certainly learned a lot about a some cool, new guns and trends happening in the airgun world. A lot changed in  the few years I got away from the hobby. I can't believe how many more new pellets and guns are on the market and some of the really cool, affordable modifications being done.

Airgunwarriors brought a ton of cool new types of targets of various shapes and sizes and explosiveness, and someone brought some really nice stainless spinners that don't rust and should last forever.

Lefteyeshot brought a bunch of different guns, none of which I had ever shot before. I don't know how he fit them all in his car!

OleTomCat brought along a few of his custom tuned guns and his Big Nasty which was just a beast! I can't believe how well it shot and how hard it hit.

All in all it was a fantastic time and I can't wait to get together again!

Now we need to start looking out to October for a date for the next one.  Can't be the weekend of the 11th & 12th or 18th & 19th, wife already called dibs on those two weekends.

So we have two other weekends, anyone have a preference?

The 4th and 5th would be fine with me, provided I'm still home.  Working takes up too much of my time from the things that matter. :P   Other than that, any time would work.  Just happy to have a chance to meet the people I talk to on here.

Al and I are thinking along those lines as well, something like the first weekend of October.

It starts to cool off a bit towards the end of October, which would possibly hinder the Co2 Shooters and the Summer type heat is pretty much gone by the first weekend of October.

The first weekend would also put more time between the Fun-Shoot and the Holidays (Halloween and Thanksgiving), which is really nice for those that have children or travel out of town for Thanksgiving.

Nothing etched in stone yet, just wanted to share what our current thoughts are.:-)

Hope to meet many of you there regardless! Its awesome being around others that share the passion of Air-Gunning!

Cheers,

AGW.
