I have been saving some money lately. PA has that 4th of july sale, 10%off n free shipping. I currently have a .22 cal synrod that i love!!!! I am currently pumping using the benji pump. I have enough money saved to buy the 90cu in air venturi tank from PA. The nearest place to fill the tank is about 100 miles round trip. Or i can save some more money and buy .25 cal new wood/rod down the road and still pump. Any input would greatly b appreciated

You're going to get 10 fills off that small tank, which would be around 250-300 shots in your m-rod. Do you want to spend an hour and a half driving and pay for 100 miles worth of gas for that? The .25 cal m-rod gets around 16 shots per fill, that would not so good having to pump that sucker up that much. You already have a rifle, why not get a compressor? Shoebox compressors aren't that much more than a .25 m-rod and if you're willing to make another big purchase that would be your best bet imo. If not that atleast get an actual scba tank with around 500cu in of space. That would get you around 60 fills or 1700-1800 shots.

Not sure if you were aware of it but if you have an industrial air gas supplier near by that may be another fill option. JMO

The place i get my tank fills is only 2 miles from my house, and I still pump sometimes, just to get a few more shots into an afternoon without interruption, or to top off a fill from a low tank. Don't get rid of the pump if you get a tank! It can still be useful!

However, it does sound like a compressor would be a good investment for you. Then, start stacking up the pcp's you need to fill

If I put a new tank on one table, and a new .25 cal gun on the other table and told you they were both free but you could only choose one…which would it be?

I have a 100 Cubic Foot Scuba Tank that is rated at 3300 PSI +10% ,,,, I can fill it safely to 3600 PSI. The cost was $278.00 out the door. I can get 35 +/- fills on my Mrod, I have my Mrod set to shoot 24 shots per fill. 24 x 35=840 shots. Also at 16 shots per fill higher power 560 shots. Great for a couple good week-ends of shooting and a little during the week. Its about 80 mile round trip and $8 to fill it or less. About $12 in gas and a fun visit to the Paint ball shop!

If you tank gets a little low you can top off the gun with the hand pump! You can set it up just about anyway you want and the 100 CF tank will get you more than you think as far as fun and shooting!

Fill stations are anywhere from $20 up to what ever you want to spend at PA or Ebay. I do have a 90ci 4500 bottle from PA as well but it runs out pretty fast and I only use it for short trips hunting and stuff.

Trust me the 100 CF tank will get you more use than the 4500 90 CU In bottle any day of the week for the same money its just more bulky.... I love mine and wouldnt part with it for anything.

That same 100 CF 3300 tank will fill a Discovery over 130 times.

Take my and others advice --- a big tank or a shoe box.

I got mine at local dive shop here, Biloxi MS ,,, you will have to check around and see if you can find one close by or check the internet. But, Dont pay over $280 for it due to you can find them for that at a lot of places. Make sure it is at least a 3300 PSI or larger.

I will check online some and see if i can find a place to order one! I will post it here when i do!

If I lived that distance from a air source I'd purchase a compressor and tank. Also, I would have only bought the 25 mrod.

You can get a new shoebox compressor for $650.... best purchase you'll ever make. It'll make you totally air independent and will enable you to truly enjoy your PCP rifles and shoot till your hearts content. All you need is a tank to go with it and you're set. I know it comes out to a chunk of change but it's really a worthwhile investment if you can swing it.

Talk to a welding supply co. I get a 6000 psi nitrogen tank delivered for $10 and filled for $40 and rented for $84 per year ( I could buy it for $350 ). I fill my 90cu in tank from the big tank and then the gun from the 90ci. At my rate of shooting I believe one fill per year of nitrogen is all I need.

6000psi tank is what you need to fill the 4500psi tanks. You can fill from there if you have it regulated. but I would just fill the tanks.

talk to the guys at franklin co. fire dept, see if they would fill a scba for you, then goto airtanksforsale.com and get a tank and fill adapter from joe

I didnt realize that shoebox compressor was $649. I went to the website directly to find out. That is interesting, hmmmm. Does anyone else know what extra hoses or attachments r needed???

You need a standard air compressor to use the shoe box. The shoe box then boosts the stadard air up to the high pressure air you need. It may or may not come with a quick connect hose to go from the shoe box to the gun or tank you are filling.

Well guys thanks for all the great advise. The advise i took was the guy that said, if there was an air tank and a marauder on a table and they were both free. Which one would u pick if u could only pick one. Well i chose the marauder. Thqnks guys i just ordered the new woodrod in .25 cal from PA. I bought the bundle and used the 4th of july code. I am so excited!!!
