The regulator/dryer assembly can either be plugged directly into the air compressor, or into the portable tank in the pictures using the couplers. I've set it to around 20psi or so, and it works great! You only get around 3-4 fills out of the portable tank before it needs refilled, but pressurizing the gun takes FAR less pumps and time as before! It's got to be less than 1/2 as many strokes... maybe 1/4 or 1/3. It is NOT significantly harder to pump, as you're still pumping against the same head pressure. You're just moving more air. Instead of having maybe an inch of compression at the bottom of the stroke, you have much more. It just feels like the pump is getting a much bigger 'bite'. Personally, I think this will increase the life of the pump, as it saves a TON of strokes on the O-rings.
Great setup! I definitely need to give this a try! Which PCP gun are you using it on?
What happend if you will rise the pressure from 20 to 30 or 40 psi?

Boosting works but the Freedom 8 works even better
