My name is Jason and I will be taking care of you. Please allow me to present to you our menu for this evening.

For the main course we have chicken scraps, Boston butt, and dried cat food. The aroma is divine, and you'll love how the cat food glistens with molten fat from the succulent Boston butt.

For dessert we have 18.1 grains of JSB's finest lead delivered at high speed...

At 10:30pm the ding-donger sang its song. Lately all I've been seeing is a red fox who does the grab-n-go. Usually when a possum or raccoon shows up, they don't stray too far. So when I arrived with the B51 in hand and saw nothing, I assumed the fox had just done a drive by. I kept watch for about 10 minutes and finally decided whatever critter it was had moved on. Just as I was standing up, I noticed a good-sized grinner come into view.

I quietly settled back in, cocked the rifle, dialed on the illuminated reticle, and took a few deep breaths to steady my aim. The possum was moving its head a good bit so a light pull of the trigger brought it to the 2nd stage. I studied its motions for 45 seconds or so until I was confident to take the shot. As it turned broadside I squeezed the trigger to put the pellet between the ear and eye. In the follow through I saw the possum tumble off to the side. With the rifle's muzzle-mounted green LED light, I confirmed the death dance was underway and in a few seconds it was over.

This fella hadn't missed many meals. One of the heavier possums I can remember. When I went to retrieve it, it passed gas for a good 20 seconds in 3 interrupted bursts. I'm accustomed to them leaving a stinky gift of the solid variety but this is the first one I've had to poot on me like it was vying for a world record.

Great story and shot..... although it seems he checked out without paying the bill, the aroma is a good indication that he attempted to leave a tip.

Matt, if you're interested in joining the skilled (single-employee) wait staff at my restaurant, you need only show up and demonstrate an ability to put 5 shots inside a dime at whatever range you intend to shoot and you can have the couch which is 10ft from the ding donger.

I sleep like the dead but it wakes me like a baby wakes a new mother.

I'm on my phone so I don't see where you live but I'm always looking for a reason to meet my GTA brethren.

That's one fat grinner. Nasty things they are.

What I have noticed about grinners is that they eat some, take a stroll off, and come back to eat some more (in like an hour or 2). Then they come back the next night. I have also noticed that the bigger male grinners are less skittish than the smaller younger grinners. And they do leave a nice log in their butt-holes.

Coyotes also do the grab-n-go. I cut the morsels into small bite size pieces. They don't go far.
