XS28 scope and mounts.

Do you use the dovetail on the XS28 to mount the scope or do you use a weaver adapter? If you use an adapter which one?

Is the XS28 known to have droop? I'd like to keep the scope pretty much near its center of adjustment.

I haven't got this rifle yet. I'm ordering it but looking for advise ahead of time.

remove the dove tail thats there nowm clean and loctite it back on and use a rws lock down mount, this setup has served me well

Until i get the XS28, I won't know for sure. My question is, are the XS28 known to need a droop compensator? As I remember the rws lock down mount is a compensator mount.

There is no worry that I will locktite the dovetail.

I have and have had several XS25s and XS28s and have NEVER had a case of droop with any of them. If you do ever encounter one that has droop, a method that I have used very successfully with RWS's is to lay a strip of duct tape in the bottom of the rear scope mount and put the mount cap over it and tighten it down. If this doesn't work, add 1 more strip of tape over the first one, put the cap on and tighten it down again. If this doesn't work, try a compensator. I have done this a few times with RWS rifles and it stands up very well without any damage to the scope. None of my own RWS rifles have droop because, if and whenever I get a new rifle, I try it out and if droop is present, I simply send the rifle back for a refund. Any decent dealer will take it back and refund all you have put into the purchase.
