Does your NPSS have a pretty jumpy recoil?

I just got a 177 Crosman NPSS (same as the re-branded/badged Remington Crosman) and I'm noticing that it jumps more than my springers. Is this normal?
I can shoot my Gamo Shadow 1000 and notice less jump than with the NPSS.
After a 30 yard shot's recoil my scope is a good 2-3 inches off the target's bullseye in random directions every time.
It's not shooting very good groups with this and no matter how I hold it light or hard, I'm landing in different spots on the target after shots (very random recoil)
I've probably put 500 pellets through it thus far. Accuracy is so so (2" groups at 30 yards). My father in law had a short lucky streak with it for a bit (getting 1" groups for 10 shots or so) but the groups grew as we shot more. Seems like the gun is too jumpy to be accurate.
The action was pretty scratchy (metal scraping metal) as it was cocked. It seems like that's getting better but it was very rough cocking when I first purchased the gun.

Gas rams have solid rearward recoil. I personally do not think any of my gas rams are harsher than any of my Gamo's.

My NPSS does not have a harsh recoil and is pretty accurate, for only having a little more than 100 pellets thru it. I'm getting a nickel size group at 20 yards. Try the artillery hold

I tried that too and it's pretty harsh. Definitely more so than my Gamo as measured by where the scope's aim lands after it's recoil.

sounds like a loose barrel lockup and not getting a good seal and causing piston slam...... atleast that would be my first guess....

It may be that it needs to break in. But may has it been jumpy.
There's definitely the operator variable in controlling the jump. I have to admit that to be fair to the gun.
I still was a little concerned in how rough the cocking action was at first. Probably something Crosman has corrected with the later model I'd guess.

Don't forget to try different pellets to find what your NPSS likes best.

Could be loose pivot bolt - that was the case with mine . Take the action out of the stock. Using a 1/16 allen wrench, loosen the set screw that locks down the pivot bolt. Then tighten the pivot bolt and re-tighten the set screw.

Could be that your pulling shots due to the trigger? If it's anything like the trigger on my Benjamin Trail anyway. It took so much pressure to pull that when it finally would break I'd pulled the shot.
